Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Chad Chaffin was the winner at IRP. Johnny Sauter dominated most of the event in a rare CTS appearance, until Chaffin made a bold outside pass on the white flag lap for the victory. Bobby Hamilton finished 3rd and holds a 5 point lead in the championship standings over 12th place finisher Dennis Setzer. Any comments or opinions on the event at IRP or the CTS? Bobby Hamilton Sr. played his new guitar in Victory Lane today at Nashville Speedway in Tenessee, after winning another Craftsman Truck Race. David Starr, was passed for the lead by Hamilton with less than 10 to go on a restart, and came home with the runner-up prize. Ted Musgrave was a solid third. The Sr. Hamilton extended his point lead as the 2nd place point man, Dennis Setzer took the checkers in the 19th position.

The Craftsman Truck Series runs the Bristol Motor Speedway under the lights this evening. Television coverage begins at 9:00pm on Speed.
We will post the finish here, as soon as the checker drops.
Ken Schrader started from the pole, and our local favorite Steve Park started 5th, and is holding his own at 6th place, on lap 35. Watch here for results.
Carl Edwards, coming off his very first Nascar Nextel Cup start, (where he posted a very respectable 10th place finish), brought his #99 Roush truck to victory lane in Bristol. Bobby Hamilton retains his point lead for the championship. Robby Gordon, in a seldom CTS start, brings home a 4th place finish, and Steve Park gets another top 10, by finishing 9th. We will post the link to the results as soon as it becomes available.
Results are finally in, but not official as of yet. Due to the delay, there must have been some scoring questions, or maybe just the disagreement between Skinner and Setzer's teams caused it. Follow the link below for the rundown:

No one thought the trucks would get in their race today, but they did. And, it wasn't even shortened at 3 to go when the caution came out, only due to a wreck on the frontstretch, not that the drivers couldn't see in the worsening darkness. Trucks were running out of fuel left and right up to this point (including NNC regular Jamie MacMurray and youngster Shane Hmiel), and presumably thinking that they would not complete the whole race, no one would give up track position to pit. Nascar chose to drop the yellow, white, checker, instead of the green, white, checker, that the Trucks are famous for. Travis Kvapil, who probably would have succumbed to any empty fuel tank, if it had stayed green, held off pole sitter, Jack Sprague, who's second place finish lost him $18,000.00. Steve Park ended up 14th after qualifying second, but started in the rear due to an engine change.
