New Smyrna To Be Repaved Before 2007 World Series

From the New Smyrna (FL) Speedway website:

REPAVING TO BEGIN JANUARY 3, 2007

That's right race fans. When the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing begins on February 9, 2007 look for track records to fall right and left. Florida's fastest speedway is about to get even faster as the new pavement begins to be put down beginning Jan. 3. In addition new fencing and other upgrades will make this a year to remember at New Smyrna Speedway.

Get ready for the World Series!

Tires ..

While I am not a representative of the Tire company, I am sure they have taken considerations for the new surface. I also believe the "open practice" on Thursday will be used as a tire testing session. Either way it is nice to hear good news about a racetrack.

Heard of a confirmed pairing for New Smyrna. Jimmy Blewett will drive for the Major Motion #19 team in Florida.
