Todd Baptista
Seekonk Speedway announced today that Miller Brewing Company, makers of Miller High Life, Miller Genuine Draft, and Miller Lite Beer, has again joined forces with the speedway to present the “Miller High Life Gold Cup Classic Series” in 2007, a trio of 75-lap $2,000 to win Pro Stock features at the 1/3-mile Bay State oval. “Following the success of last season’s Miller High Life Gold Cup Classic event, we were all eager to expand our partnership and we’re very happy with the new format we’ll be presenting,” assistant manager David Alburn announced.
The 2007 Miller High Life Gold Cup Classic Series will be played out over three separate race dates, beginning with the season opener on Sunday afternoon, May 6. Subsequent events will be held on Saturday, June 16, and Saturday, August 11. In addition to accruing A.R.C. championship points, drivers will also accumulate Miller High Life points in the three races. The driver who earns the most Miller High Life points will be guaranteed a provisional starting spot in the season-ending D. Swansea, MA’s Todd Annarummo captured the event in 2006.
