I saw a post over at Mod Series Scene claiming the Tour will be heading to Irwindale (CA) Speedway as part of "The Showdown". The race is RUMORED to have a purse of $200,000 and it also RUMORED there will be $1,500 in "tow-money" awarded to teams.
ONCE AGAIN THIS IS A RUMOR. I will look for more information.

Just wanted to add that the event is also RUMORED to be broadcast LIVE on television.
Perhaps if the whole RUMOR is true, teams would be able to approach sponsors to help with travel costs. I would look in the direction of companies formerly involved with the now defunct NASCAR Elite Divisions.
