Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
In the modern era, (1975 to present) Only twice has the point leader going into the last race of the season lost the championship. Who were the driver's that lost the lead's, and who were the drivers that won the tittle's and in what years?
Wheels, back in 1992 Million Dollar Bill Elliott was leading over Alan (underbird) Kulwicki going into the last race and Alan one the Championship in the HOOTERS #7. I'm not sure on the other one.Richie.
Rich, your 3/4 right. The late Alan Kulwicki was one of the champ's, and the year was 92. But the late Davey Allison was the point leader who lost the lead to Kulwicki in 1992.
Spd, your 1/4 right. DW is one of the driver's I'm looking for. But the year wasn't 1985, and DW was the one who lost the tittle to the driver in question.
