Rudd Rumors: Ricky Rudd may be waking up again from his semiretirement, or at least putting feelers out that he's getting restless sitting on the porch. Rudd hasn't been seen since he subbed for injured #20-Tony Stewart at Dover in June. But now he's lined up to test a Toyota car of tomorrow at Talladega on Oct. 9, during NASCAR's next planned test of the controversial new model. Rudd would be testing in a model for a Toyota Truck team that now fields Trucks for Jack Sprague. Rudd said he's been offered Toyota Cup rides next season, but hasn't said yes or no as of yet. And there is speculation that General Motors may want to make Rudd a Nextel Cup offer for next year, too. Already there is widespread speculation that Richard Childress may be ready to expand to a fourth Nextel Cup team. Rudd and Childress were once GM teammates.(Winston Salem Journal)(9-17-2006)
