The following press release is from PASS Racing, inc.
PASS Race at Montmagny Cancelled/Canaan Still On
(Naples, ME - September 1, 2006) The PASS North Super Late Model race scheduled for Sunday September 3rd at Autodrome Montmagny in St Pierre-Montmagny, Quebec has been cancelled. With a forecast of rain on Sunday and even heavier rains forecast for Monday, it is in the best interest of the competitors and fans, many of whom were going to travel hundreds of miles from the States and the Maritimes to the race, to cancel now. The race will be rescheduled on a date that will be announced shortly.
All the big stars in the super fast PASS North Super Late Models will be back at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME next Sunday September 10th at 1:30 in the afternoon for the New England Dodge Dealers 150 in preparation for the biggest Super Late Model race in New England, the PASS 400 Weekend at Beech Ridge on September 23rd - 24th.
With 37 cars in the pits last Sunday when the rains came, including Dave Dion, Patrick Laperle, Kelly Moore, and Dale Shaw, along with Beech Ridge pro stock regulars Curtis Gerry, Bill Rodgers, David Oliver, and Trevor Sanborn, as well as several competitors from other area tracks such as Bill Whorff, Jr., Joey Porciello, Brad Hammond, Paul White, and Mike Maietta, it has the makings of another slugfest on the tough Scarborough oval.
The PASS Outlaw Late Model Series was also represented with a number of teams stepping up to the big show from the late models including Jimmy Rosenfield, Mike Fowler, Derek Ramstrom, and Chris Staples. The field will swell to over 40 with the addition of Mike Rowe, Cassius Clark, Jeremie Whorff, and Bobby MacArthur who were at the PASS South Race in Hickory, NC last week. A number of other pro stock teams from local tracks are expected as well since their season will end next Saturday night, so you know that the qualifying heats will feature the hard and fast racing that PASS races are known to produce.
The PASS Outlaw Late Model and True Value Modified Series twin 100s on the awesome asphalt at Canaan Fair Motorsports Complex Canaan, NH is still on for Saturday night September 2nd. In addition to the twin 100s, there will be a full card of Super Sportsman, Minis, Pure Stocks, Outlaw Minis, and Kid’s Bandits. The racing gets under way at 6pm.
