Well, what an interesting evening, Dong King racing, is that the snack cake, Wmt? LOL!
I too hope Mr. Agor is doing okay, and I know it's tough on that independent team when something like this happens. A sore Lloyd will be working all week long to get back race ready, no matter what it takes. That's a lot of heart for the sport.

Maybe when OWR gets home he can elaborate on the after the checkers altercation between Teddy and Bo, I can't wait to hear more, Friday Night at The Fights!

No big deal buddy, anybody that has lived in California for any length of time will tell you that Ring Dings are called Ding Dongs or King Dongs there, so I thought maybe......
Is the racing finally over up there?

Thanks so much for all your hard work WMT! How did the new system work out for you guys? Do you like that better than the phone to phone contact? Is there anyway we can make it even better?

before the tour race was run i was racing online, getting ejected as usual for running my mouth but thats besides the point.......
ive been checking the board also and i must say it was very clean and congrats to dong king and the 28!!!!!!! not to deflect this topic but i also made a post in the vintage section as well, very good night all around folks :)
dont know if there was a problem with the scales. only thing out of the norm was the 48 late model was sent over the scales 4 or 5 times (dont remember the exact number).
scale problem? or, stafford making a judgement call ? or, both?
after the last big to do over scales occured, stafford claimed to have the scales calibrated and laser checked for levelness. i wasnt in the tech shack but with all the effort given to the 48s weigh in it seems something was at issue

Nothing wrong with the 48 or the scales - ask anyone who from the 17 or 92 who went in to check to make sure everything was legit. The 48 sat for over an hour before it went over the scales - they were able to put the tire pressures up to the minimum. Why doesn't everyone just worry about their own car and stop worrying about the 48 or anyone else.
i dont understand why it needed to go over 4 or 5 times. i didnt accuse the 48 team or track officials or anything. i was observing what appeared to be an issue with the scales or the weight. i didnt see any other cars go over multiple times.
is there a reasonable explanation? if so, why not share it?
so Tom fern gets DQued for having his weight mounted wrong but the 48 gets a free pass on leftside weight? listen it doesn't matter which car it is rules are rules. 55.1 is over plain and simple. this goes back to the thread about same rules for everyone. what happened to the days of running over the scales once?

that might not be a bad idea........ this might be off topic when it comes to SMS BUT... i do remember the mid 80s at riverside park when they were about to start a mod feature that they would weigh them before they grid them, some cars had to go in the pits 3 times before they got it right, maybe now they will have to do it again
i just think you should get one shot at the scales. the deal with adding 1 pound of air to all tires is BS because that isn't the way the car was run on the track. I'll gaurenttee you this you dq a guy for 55.1 % leftside the next time he comes back he'll be 54.9% but you let him slide with it he'll keep coming back.
A lot of good point's have been made on both side's of thing's. But once again ( And yes I must admit if indeed a car was pushed on and off the scales several times it would look fishy to me as well but that's my opinion) nobody know's for sure if any team got away with any thing except the people that actually saw the scale reading's standing in the tech shack.
The thing that I dont agree with is everytime one of these discussion's is started it slowly evolves into a bash the #48 team thread, and so far I have noticed nobody from the #48 that has responded has finger pointed at any other team. Maybe other's should take notice of that and do the same.

the 48 did not get a free pass - they past over the scales - ask the 92 team and the 17 team who got to go in and see. fearn had 40 lbs. of lead mounted outside the frame rail - plain and simple.
Its funny when anybody runs well everybody assumes people are cheating or the track is letting things slide. The 48 has ben in tech 8 times this year and weight has not been a issue once.Yes a questinable call on fuel. But no weight problems.

There was no question on the fuel - it passed tech within the guidelines. Lets see how many people have been let go for things and were told to change them - ask the 17, 90, 3... IF YOU ALL WEREN'T SO WORRIED ABOUT THE 48 MAYBE YOU'D BE RUNNING AS GOOD AS THEY ARE!!!!!!
Well, I thought the little hint about accusation's and finger pointing would be taken from both sides in my previous post but I guess it wasn't.
Let's keep this discussion constructive, and leave the hear say and finger pointing out of it. These discussion's can be great, but they can also just get to a point where there just going nowhere and become pointless. Let's keep that in mind folk's
I would be interested in knowing what the 3,90 and 13 were let go for. You seem to be a 48 fan and are rising to their defense so it would be nice to know what you observed when the others went through tech.
I for one am not singling out the 48 as the 34 sk light had the same prob a few weeks ago (multiple passes over the scale). As a result of that SMS had the scales recalibrated and laser level checked. When that was complete they announced in the paddock to all competitors to check their cars on the scales and the scales would no longer contribute to the weight issues in tech.
If SMS did what they said "fixed the scales", why do cars need to go over multiple times or over backwards? If the car was to the rules, i dont understand why someone cant say .... this is why the 48 (or the 34sk light) had to go over multiple times.
Please "no worry about your own team" and "jumping on other teams". If its all legit and all for a reason that i would hope someone could step up and give the logical and legit perspective.
takers? and i would like to see the anon 48 defender be the first. I am not bashing the car or team , i am trying to understand and when the defense of them is emotional and unrelated to what was observed you cast further doubt on the situation.
I could careless if it was the 48, 17,90,13 etc... to me it isn't about who it is. it is about the fact that 2 other cars can go over once without problem then 3rd car goes over the scales, and is over on leftside% that car should be dqued right there not given multiple chances to get it right.
Openwheeler you bought up how the disscussion turns into a bash the 48 car. well let me offer this insight.
when you are a fast car people always think that you are cheating. it doesn't help you when your the fast car and you are having to go over the scales multiple times.
bottom line is to me this has nothing to with a certain car or team. It is about having fair rules for everyone. which would mean one shot at the ride height, one shot on the scales, period.
also let me add that I like Woody he's a good kid. I have known him for awhile and am happy he is running good.
discussions should be objective and about the rules of racing.
not about "they arent cheating" or "worry about your own team"
also not about "preferred treatment" or "must be cheating because they are doing good".
rules are rules ....... when rules that should be black and white are seemlingly difficult to enforce or measure than fix the rule and make it foolproof and apply it exactly the same to everyone.
for the person who said: the 48 did not get a free pass - they past over the scales - ask the 92 team and the 17 team who got to go in and see. fearn had 40 lbs. of lead mounted outside the frame rail - plain and simple.
i am not so sure your info is 100% correct about the 92 and 17 and i know you are wrong about outside of the frame rail. did you yourself see the lead in question? if you did you wouldnt have made that exact statement and than it makes me wonder about what the 92 and 17 were able to see.
The fuel thing from a few posts up. It was legal because it didnt break the letter of the rule but it didnt meet the spirit of the rule. Woody admitted in an interview he tried something new. That thing he tried forced a re-writing of the rule. I applaud the thinking on behalf of woddy to push the envelope always find the edge. It ultimately didnt help and it now is a black and white rule. Great job on trying.
I HATE IT WHEN A CAR IS IN TECH AND THE OFFICIALS HAVE TO CALL ROB FOR A RULING!!!!! Can we all agree on that?
