Curtis wins tire draw again

SUPER SERIES GOODYEAR TIRE DRAWING TO MARC CURTIS - AGAIN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                          ACT-080506-2

SEEKONK, MA – Even though wasn’t his birthday, sophomore American-Canadian Tour competitor, Marc Curtis Jr of Worcester, MA was gifted with four Goodyear Eagle racing tires on Saturday.  Curtis will be able to use his new sneakers at the upcoming Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Sun, Sept 3.

It was the second time in two ACTion Super Series events that the 22 year-old driver’s name was selected by blind draw for a free set of tires.  He originally won a set of tires for use at the ACT Tour race at Quebec’s Sanair Super Speedway on July 8-9, which was the first of three $10,000 to win ACTion Super Series events this year.

This past Saturday, at the Tour’s stop at Seekonk (MA) Speedway, Curtis’ name was again selected from among the 40-some who were eligible for the annual ACTion Super Series opener’s tire draw.  Fellow sophomore driver Joey Polewarczyk of Hudson, NH was charged with pulling a chip during the driver’s meeting prior to the Bay State 100.

Curtis was likely the most surprised of all in attendance at his good fortune, which has a value of about $500.  At the upcoming Bond Auto race at Thunder Road’s quarter-mile oval, Curtis will be much more confident in his chances at both qualifying and racing in the main event than he was going in to the race at Sanair’s 7/8ths mile tri-oval.  Sanair was an unknown entity for the young gun.  On the other hand, Curtis has been traveling over 200 miles per week from his home in MA to compete at the high-banked Vermont speedplant and has even scored a win in the track’s highly competitive Late Model class.

Late Model drivers from across all six New England states as well as New York, Quebec and Ontario entered the three of the $10,000 to win ACTion Super Series races by a specific deadline to be eligible for the Goodyear Tire draws.  One draw remains for the second finale, the New England Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl (Sept 30-Oct 1), also Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl.

Discount advance sale tickets for the 28th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic on Sunday, Sept 3 go on sale during the week of August 6.
