Young New Jersey Native Serves as Teammate to Dion Ciccarelli This Saturday

CONCORD, NC (July 25, 2006) – When the 2006 NASCAR Busch East Series season kicked off at Greenville Pickens Speedway (SC) in June, Ryan Seaman was back in his New Jersey race shop preparing his #06 ERS Motorsports machines for selected starts later in the year.  The 2004 series Rookie of the Year decided in the off-season to focus on some of the more prestigious races on this year’s schedule. 

Seaman has made the most of his limited starts though.  Two weeks ago at New Hampshire International Speedway, running in the top-five for much of the race before developing mechanical problems late.

When the ERS Motorsports team packed up and left NHIS, they were immediately focused on their next scheduled race, the September event there.  But, after discussions at the track with Larry Jamerson, owner of the #84 Jamerson Motorsports BES entry driven by Dion Ciccarelli, Seaman has added the Edge Hotel 150 race at Adirondack International Speedway on Saturday, July 29th to his schedule.

Seaman will be in his #06 ERS Motorsports machine as a teammate to the 2006 Rookie of the Year candidate Ciccarelli at Adirondack.  With a strong result at the tricky half-mile, Seaman is hoping that the partnership between his ERS Motorsports team and the Jamerson Motorsports crew can be a lasting one.

“We’re going to Adirondack as a teammate to Dion and we’re going to go there to run up front just like we did at Loudon,” said Seaman.  “The biggest thing is to go out there and not just ride around.  We’re going out there to get a pole and finish in the top five.  We want to repeat our performance from Loudon.”

“I’m also looking forward to working with Dion and the Jamerson Motorsports team at Adirondack.  I’ll be driving my #06 car, but the Jamerson guys are going to be taking my car to the racetrack and we’ll be sharing notes all weekend.   We’re going to be teammates at the racetrack with hopes to make something work in the future.  As long as things progress well for the weekend then hopefully we can work some things up for down the road, but first things first, we want to run well at Adirondack.”

Since making his Busch East (then Busch North) debut in 2003, Seaman has been piloting machines owned by his father, Everett, and the ERS Motorsports team.  Saturday’s race at Adirondack will be Seaman’s first as a teammate to another driver.  Former NASCAR Busch Series driver Dion Ciccarelli joined the Jamerson Motorsports organization earlier this year coming into the Busch East Series in 2002 and will likewise have a teammate in Seaman for the first time in his Busch East career.

“I spent a good 45 minutes on the phone with Dion the other day and we had a good talk about racing, the cars and the tracks.  I got to talk with him a lot at Loudon a few weeks back and I’m looking forward to it.  We’re going to have a real good time with this thing.  It’s going to be a good learning experience for me as well for Dion.  I’ll have a teammate for this weekend and we’ll try to get him going while we hopefully keep our momentum going in the right direction.”

Momentum is already on Seaman’s side based on his strong run at NHIS last weekend and last year’s Adirondack event.  Seaman had to start last on the field but climbed his way up into the top-10 by the mid-stages of the race.  The eighth-place result was Seaman’s first top 10 of the 2005 season, but this time the young New Jersey native wants better.

“We finished ninth there last year, it was our first top-10 of the season, but it was a lot of fun racing at that place.  I like the place a lot.  You couldn’t start any worse than we did there last year but we raced our way up to the front.  This time we want to qualify and finish up front.”

The Edge Hotel 150 at Adirondack International Speedway is set to take the green flag at 8pm on Saturday July 29th.
