I consider myself fortunate that I was able to have seen Richie race. While I was a bit to young to have see him race at tracks all over the northeast as many were able to, I did get to see him race many times at Stafford and Thompson. A lot of people have a favorite Richie story or memorey, mine has to be one Thompson 300 weekend in the early 80's. Myself and WMT were camping out at the Big T for the 300 and several people in 4x4 trucks were attempting to climb a pile of dirt that was in the camping area. After several unsucesful try's by these 4x4's, along came a 2 wheel drive Chevy PU and it "climbed" the dirt pile allright...Dukes of Hazzard style! Who was the driver of that PU? Richie Evans.

Thank's for all the memories and Rest in peace Rapid Roman
