Shell Race Fuels Enters New England Motorsports Market

Mansfield, MA:  Performance Fuels of Ohio, Shell Master Distributor, recently announced the launch of Shell Racing Fuels to the United States.  Kinetic General of Mansfield, MA has been named as the exclusive dealer of the race fuels line in New England.

Performance Fuels and Kinetic General will combine efforts to offer an alternative to the fuels currently being offered for racing applications in New England.

“We are really excited to be working with Kinetic General in the New England area,” said Terry Thompson of Shell Racing Solutions.  “Shell is in the process of building the distribution network for our racing fuel throughout the U.S. and we are fortunate to have the experience and technical knowledge of the staff at Kinetic General to help us in this very important region.”

Kinetic General was founded in 1996 under its original name, Kinetic Petroleum, when owner Steve Megerdichian of Mansfield, MA began offering Synergyn Lubricants to dealers, performance equipment builders and end-users throughout Massachusetts.  Since those days the scope and reach of Kinetic General has expanded considerably.

The territory of Kinetic General has expanded to include the entire U.S. and the product line has grown to include a full-line of performance products representative of fine companies such as Power Mist Racing Fuels, Performance Friction Brake Products, RED-E Oil, ACDelco, Motorcraft, NGK Spark Plugs, Bendix, Wix Filters, and many, many more.

Today Kinetic General distributes high-performance and fleet maintenance products for the Motorsports, General Automotive, Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer, and Manufacturing industries.  For a comprehensive look at the company, log on to www.kineticgeneral.com.

In recent years, Megerdichian has made the expansion into the motorsports market a priority.

“Kinetic General’s responsibility to the racer and to the market in general is to offer top-notch products with a great price,” said Megerdichian.  “We back that up with the finest technical support and service, something that is lacking in the market today.  Racers and people are looking for answers - Kinetic General has the answers to their questions and the products to support those answers.”

Recently, Megerdichian was joined by Steve Fales of Townsend, MA.  Fales brings along an expertise with fuel that started with the formulation of Power Mist Racing Fuels with his father, the late William J. Fales.  His vast product knowledge was developed through years of hands-on experience in all realms of motorsports.  Fales has worked for both New England Racing Fuels and VP Racing Fuels and continues to play an integral part in the success of the Racing Against Cancer™ program, a registered non-profit organization that raises funds for the fight against cancer through a variety of motorsports programs.

“Steve Fales is recognized from coast to coast as one of the top technical experts in the racing fuel industry and Steve Megerdichian has the business acumen to get our product to the market efficiently which will help keep the cost down for the racers,” continued Thompson. “The combination of this dynamic organization and Shell’s superior line of racing fuels will have a huge impact on racing in New England this year and for many years to come.”

Kinetic General will introduce five Shell Race Fuels to the performance market in the New England including two unleaded fuels SRS100ULE, SRS105UL and three leaded fuels SRS110, SRS114 and SRS118.

“Any stock car - SK Modified, Late Model, Mod Tour, Busch - any road racers, any drag racing classes, in fact any vehicle that has an engine, whether racing or not, can benefit from this fuel,” said Fales. “Dyno results (from local engine builders) have proven that this fuel will be very competitive with other fuels sold in New England.”

The full-line offers a fuel for every racing application.  The SRS100UL is designed for applications like road racing and 9:1 compression stock cars where 100-octane unleaded fuel is required. Other applications will include classes of drag racing, motorcycle, snowmobile and ATV racing.  The SRS105UL is an unleaded fuel for off-road competition.

The lead-based SRS110 is utilized in all forms of racing applications with a 13:1 compression ratio, the SRS114 is used when the ratio jumps to 15:1 while the high-end SRS118, designed for high-compression engines of 16:1, is best suited for drag racing.

“The Shell line will be offered by Kinetic General to teams, tracks, and series,” added Fales.  “We plan to offer a variety of product sponsorships to racers as well.”

Over 90 plus years of fuel development has made Shell Race Fuels a proven winner in the Auto Racing world with championships in Formula One and World Superbike.  It is only a matter of time before similar successes are felt in racing applications throughout the United States including the local tracks of New England.
