Thanks to Sid for this great flyer for Little League Night at the Bowl.
If you have any trouble viewing the flyer in the MS Excel format, email me at makinglaps@aol.com and I will send you the PDF formatted flyer. Please note that the flyer includes two pages, (click on the tabs at the lower left corner to view).
BRAT - Thanks for helping spread the word. As all of us know, the key to generating interest in any sport is exposure as a kid - so hopefully this will expose some local young'ens to short track racing...
Email me with any questions or come see me at the track
Yo - check out Pete Vandeveer hypin' up LL Night!! Good story in the Norwich Bulletin. I'm not sure about Diego sayin' he's expecting to hit 6 HR's , but he'll learn soon enough not to talk smack...
And just for the record, "Sid" derives from former NYM pitcher Sid Fernandez, not punk legend Sid Vicious, although Ronnie U came up with that variation when he first saw me throw the ol' Wiffle Ball...
SID'S POWER RANKINGS for the drivers 1 - Soup = knees or no knees, the big guy can still crush it 2 - Da House = apparently was good once in a galaxy far, far away 3 - 'chard = swings for the fences whether the pitch is a strike or not - could pull an 0-fer or hit the most out.. 4 - Diego = penalized one spot for talkin' junk (6! ) 5-8 - young guns (Bakajs, Timmy & JPaul) in any order... but I ain't worried... 9 - Puglisi = listed as day-to-day with a bad back... 10 - Janovic = could be most entertaining to watch... at least he can wheel a mod... let's just leave it at that, shall we...
LL'ers are all business - I'd be scared Speedbowl Sluggers!!! My pick to win is my main man James Annello - 12 yr old from Wtfd LL South - he has 4 HR's already this season for my squad. So remember the name...
Hey guys - one last quick thank you for your having the flyer up on your site... I've got nothin' but positive emails from track staff, race teams & fans, so I'm glad everyone seemed to enjoy it...
Had my first LL game tonite since Sat and all the parents said the kids couldn't stop talkin' about how much fun they had - hopefully we'll see the kids & their families at the track again soon...
Good idea + $.00 budget = enjoyable event.... who'd a thunk, huh??
Your welcome Sid, we are just glad to have been able to help you and the kids out in any way we could of. I think if anyone definitely deserves a thank you from the members of are racing community it's you Sid. The countless hours you have spent puting together both the "Vault" and LL night to benefit the Bowl in it's "time of need" should be commended. Come on ML members, and Anon's as well lets throw some "props" Sid's way!
No need for more praise - I'm not much for the spotlight... I'm much more comfortable behind the keyboard or at the track where the drivers (or the LL Kids on this particular night) are the people who deserve the attention.... it's about them.... and the track... not me... I'm just doin' my part... If we ever lose the place and I didn't do something to help, I'm not sure I could have forgave myself, so I was just volunteering to the sport & track I have so much fun being a part of...
