yeah I got a little bit of a burn. Absolutely beautiful weather, pretty good crowd, great sk finish.  The rest of the racing was ok.  Too many cautions in all fields.  A few noticable missing persons,  where was jay miller, kurt lenehan, ronnie silk, and finkelday.  In late models boticello, allen coats I believe someone said he may not run at all this year.

Ben said in an earlier post that Jay had injured an eye in a work accident and had to sit out this event. Lenahan is reportedly running Stafford. Silk is running the WMT. Finkleday is running Thompson. I'm not sure exactly what Botticellos plans our. Allen Coates is reportedly taking the season off.

Does anyone have the rundown of the sportsman division? A friend of mine Kevin Williams) just finished his car on Friday and was wondering how he finished. Thanks, Rob.

Jay hurt his left eye in a work accident last week, thats why he was not there. We hope to be back this weekend if hes cleared to drive. The car is all set and ready to go. We thought about putting someone else in it but thought it would be best to let it sit and not risk wrecking it.

Thanks so much Scott for handling the results so well.  I really enjoyed my day off at the track!  I even got to see Ben, but you walked much too fast for me!

Overall the show went fairly quickly.  Of course there was some controversy, (as always) with the SK division.  Those of us who were there had different views of the top 6 or so cars in the last 50 laps.  There appeared to be lots of blocking and some unsportsman-like conduct between a few drivers.  The last couple of laps a start was pulled back, although the restart was even worse.

I would like to say congratulations to our friends Stosh and Steve for a well deserved first win at Waterford with Frank Ruocco!

...and a speedy recovery to Jay Miller, you were certainly missed by many of us.

Sunday's race was the first time I had been in the stands for a mod race at the Bowl, definetly a different perspective (although I might be in the stands a lot more as the driver has tabbed me to be the spotter). Showtime did a great job in his first trip to the Bowl, which can prove to be a tricky place for the outsiders. Stash and Steve did a great job setting up Ruocco's car (like always) and got him the victory. Horton on the new tires did a great job avoiding the many wrecks. Jeff Pearl was in and out of the pits but came back to a solid 6th place finish. Jeff Paul did a good job with the crate motor as a rookie to post a 7th. I have to take my hat off though to Wendall Dailey, the nicest guy in the world, does a lot with a little, came home 8th, avoiding all trouble. Shawn Monahan showed up with a hot rod like always, and contended for the lead before having a meeting with the turn 4 armco. Ronnie Yuhas in the 49 tried the outside as well on Blewett, but could do it before losing the air cleaner and eventually the rear end. Teddy Christopher never really had too much of a shot it seems, had trouble all weekend. Overall a pretty great race, great weather for the opener. Nice to see some familiar faces again. Sorry I missed ya brat, I was all over the pits at times, I was by the 11 trailer with Scott talking to Robbie and Ernie a couple times, but other then that i only made a few passes, spent most my time down in the turn 1 stands. Hopefully everyone has their cars ready for next weekend, and hopefully the 0-9 will be back out there running up front.

Frank Ruocco, Stash and Steve Butova walking back to their pit stall after redrawing the 6th starting position for the SK 150, a few hours later they would be standing in victory lane.

Thanks to Cannonbro for taking the pic, and Stash for submiting it.
