2007 Pepsi 400 WHEN?

  • Pepsi 400 in Nov 2007? error or cat out of the bag? on a Catrol GTX sweepstakes page, the grand prize is listed as:
    (1) Grand Prize: 4-day/3-night trip for two (2) to the 2007 Pepsi 400 race currently scheduled for November 2007 in Daytona, FL. Sooo, is that an error [oops] in the contest rules/prizes or did they slip and let the 'cat out of the bag' telling us that the Pepsi 400, held on the July 4th weekend for years, is gonna be moved in 2007 to be part of the chase and end the season where it began? See the contest and links on my Racing Contest page, it is towards the bottom as it ends 12/31/06.(3-7-2006)

    Maybe they can give the July 4th date to California so we can have 3 exciting races there every year, no wait, they will have the July 4th race in Mexico!

    you got to be kidding me,  there is 2 ways of thinking about this really.......... but lets hope this is an error


    1.  if daytona is gonna be the last race of the year it will be MUCHHHHHHHH BETTER than homestead,  quite frankly it made me take a nap half way thru the race.....


    2. with daytona being the last race, if it should be,  the 26 car big one happens then bill weber foams at the mouth <THE CHASE THE CHASE THE CHASE> pulling his hair by the roots almost sucker punching BP in the process,  the kind of visual i like to pass........... lol

    Good point Scott. If they move their Daytona race to the chase then they would have Dega & Tona plate races or 2 out of ten. If the Pepsi 400 is last can you imagine the wrecks going for the championship! You could be 8th going in and just survive and get the Cup! All speculation I know but sounds like a big mistake if it was slipped ahead of time.

    UPDATE: been told by Daytona International Speedway reps that the Pepsi 400 will be run on July 7th, 2007 and NOT moved to November in 2007. The contest info has not been changed.(3-8-2007)
