Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Erick Rudolph of Ransomville continued the amazing start to his career in the SST Sportsman at Wyoming County International Speedway. In just his fourth start in an SST car, Rudolph won his first 30-lap feature at the Perry Bullring. Following finishes of fourth, second, and third in his first three starts it was only a matter of time before the 15-year-old Rudolph broke through with a win.
Wayne Lent continues to lead the point standings in the division as he finished runner up to Rudolph. Jim Love, Dan Hoag, and Don Pringle rounded out the top five. Steve Fuchs finished just outside the top five with a career-best sixth.
A season-high of 20 cars started the feature as the SST Sportsman division continues to grow. Scott Combs made his first start of the season at WCIS and finished ninth. Defending SST Series champion, Tony Hanbury, ran up front for part of the race, but dropped out with mechanical problems. He wound up 12th. T.J. Potrzebowski finished 14th after getting involved with Don Wylie in an incident. Potrzebowski won in his two previous starts at WCIS this season.
