During a heat race at the bowl, a car (not sure who) hit the turn one wall and burst into flames. The leader of the race was able to stop his car, jump out and pull the driver out of the burning car too safety, before the track crew could get there. I believe he also put the fire out. Name this fine driver, the year and his car #. Bonus, tell me the driver and car that crashed, i don't remember . Richie
Was it Charlie Webster? I remember he drove the 716 for a while back then. I am not sure of Charlie's status so please don't take it wrong if he is still alive. I know Jerry Glaude drove the 716 also but I believe that was in the mid '70's.
