Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
With a sigh of relief, (for those competitors who needed another few nights to get that car perfect), we just want to pass along the inevitable.
The Speedbowl Finale has been rescheduled for the weekend of Oct 21-23.
Please read below for the complete announcement from WSB management.
(I edited Brat's post to include the "new date" of the finale):
'FINALE' Dates Changed Again
SMACKTOBERFEST GETS NEW DATE ALSO
Speedbowl management has changed the make up date of the Town Fair Tire Finale to October 21, 22 and 23. The Speedbowl’s legendary Smacktoberfest will also move to October 30th.
“These changes come as a result of consultation with NASCAR’s Director of Regional and Weekly Racing, Don Hawk. “We agreed with Don and the other tracks involved that the overriding concern should be for the racers and the race fans of NASCAR’s New England tracks and the NASCAR touring series involved” said track owner Terry Eames.
“Obviously, we would have preferred to keep things the way they were originally scheduled, but, no perfect alternatives were available’, said General Manager Bill Roth. “Mother Nature put us all in a jam when she rained out the NASCAR double header scheduled at Thompson in June”, Roth added.
“I think NASCAR did the best they could with a bad situation by talking with all of us to come up with this plan,” concluded Eames.
