Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
I know some of us are breathing a sigh of relief, the Mom's, wives, and lonely kids who miss their men (and some women as well, of course!) during the racing season. Many of us get to join in with the fun, but as we all know, the racing takes up a lot more of their time than just the few hours on a Saturday. We show our support from the stands and on sites like this, make sandwiches, and buythe beer. But there is nothing like being able to have that romantic dinner alone on a weekend, or plan a trip without thinking about the interference it will cause in the racing season. This is just a bit of kudos I am sending out to all of us who stand by those guys and support the teams from the sidelines throughout the season. Without the sandwich makers, accountants, and therapists that we become during racing season, the teams would surely be missing something.
I am waiting for the first call of the evening, as I am certain that the first feature of the evening has taken the green. The tentative schedule tonight is Sportsmen, Late Model, SK, Mini Stock, and then the Legend division. I will return with the podium finish from the first feature as soon as the cell rings.
If there are a lot of us who couldn't attend the racing this evening and you would like to start a chat, let me know and I will post the link in this thread and we can head to the chatroom. Let me know if you are interested!
Back soon with results....

Hey Brat! I hope Waterford has a good show tonight...for I am sitting here watching preseason hockey on my TV! (Ha ha ha.) I posted today's results from Stafford, so if you'd like to check it out, go ahead.
Well, that tentaive schedule has already been changed, as the Legends ran their feature first, apparently du to the fact that there was only 10 cars entered in the event. They ran no heats or qualifying whatsoever. The winner of the Legends feature was Jeffrey Paul.
25 SK's qualified for tonight's main event, and that means two new cars showed up for racing tonight at the Speedbowl in the SK division. Moose Douton in his own SK numbered 9, and a newcomer Joe Krawiac brought the numbers up this evening.
Sportsmen Feature Top Five Unofficial Finishers:
Billy Gertsch Jr.
John Puglisi
Norm Root
Richard Staskowski
Jim Proccosini
The Late Model division is on the track now running their feature, and the SK's will be next followed by the Mini Stock Division.
some highlights from today....
Many racefans attending the Bowl this evening will be heading back up Rte 32 tomorrow for the running of the Annual Fall Final at Stafford Motor Speedway. Highlight of the weekend is the return of Steve Park to modified racing this weekend. Wonder if he will be also attending any fires in the parking lot, ....I hope so.
News from SMS's annual Fall Final had Donny Lia setting fast time for the WMT event to be run tomorrow, but Carl Pastreyak picking the number one spot after the redraw.
Southern Ct's own Matt Kobyluck won the BGNN event held over in the northeast corner of Ct today at Limerock. After an altercation with the wildlife this week, he rebounded to take a well deserved win!

Thanks so much Mandy, I surely will! It seems like many people are camping up at SMS tonight, as the phone call I got from the track said that the fires have already started and so have the parties. Always a fun time at the FF!
Late Model feature Unofficial Top Five Finishers:
Wayne Coury Jr.
Mark St. Hilaire
Allen Coates
Larry Goss
Jay Wozniak
The heat winners for the SK's this evening were, Curt Lenihan, Ernie Bertran, and Frank Mucciacciaro, respectively. The SK division is getting ready to take the green, and with only 4 points seperating the champion and the loser, and only the second really chilly evening of the year, they are in for a great race. A safe and successful race to all!

Bad Luck plagues Jay Miller again, who while running 2nd early in the race lost a tranny. He was heard saying he had the car to beat this evening and felt like it had never run better. Tyler Chadwick lost it , (unknown whether he had help or not) on the frontstretch, and took out Chris Pastreyak, who was physically unharmed but his car was irrepairably damaged. Except for those two major problems, eyewitensses say it was a very clean race. Everyone is looking forward to the finale, especially with the point spread closing up to just two points.
The Mini Stock division has taken the green, we will be back with the results as soon as the checker drops....

The Waterford Speedbowl concludes it's last regular saturday night show of the 2005 season remarkably by 9:00PM! What an awesome way to end the season. The Mini's had a fairly clean race, took a few starts to get going, but when they did, it ran smoothly.
Mini Stock Division Feature Top Four Finishers:
Joe Godbout Jr.
Richard Brooks
Chris Correll
Tom Smith
.....and the checker has fallen on tonight's racing. We will be here next week to bring you live information on qualifying from Saturday, and then on to Sunday's LIVE results from each division's last event of the 2005 season. With champions yet to be determined, and so close in the SK division, it is sure to be an exciting weekend of racing.
Until then, we will save you a seat in the stands!

RE: Waterford Speedbowl LIVE News & Results 10/01/05
is this the last points race for the sk's or is the finale included in the championship? I am curious if the championship is over or not.
I checked out seekonk today. They were running qualifying for their final show which includes. TV mods 100 laps (29 cars), prostocks 100 laps (32 cars), nema midgets(25 cars), ford focus midgets(18), latemodels(23), streets and trucks. It is shaping up to be a real good show tomorrow. If one isnt attending stafford; wants to see some good racing, seekonk is worth considering.
some notables. vinny who had a modified in attendance as well as his prostock. I believe 03 of kenny spencer was also in a mod. prostocks wayne dion was racing, along with outsiders fred astle, jeff zidema and the return of rick martin(still a fan favorate after 2 or 3 ear absence. Jim silvia 116 of the seekonk street stock fame has a pro stock numbered the same.
Sorry didnt know where to post this, but figured some might be interested in the happenings at seekonk today.

BRATMASTER, I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU THAT I THINK YOU DO A FANTASTIC JOB IN KEEPING ALL OF THE FANS AT HOME UPDATED ON WHAT GOES ON AT THE TRACK. YOU'RE NUMBER1 IN MY BOOK.
First, csg...that is fine. You certainly know that you will get at least the WSB fans looking at this. But I am also going to copy and paste that info into the DWRS thread, which is what we use for any other tracks outside of CT with notable interest as in Seekonk. thanks so much for the information!
...and yes, the finale IS counted for the championships in all divisions for the WSB. Some local tracks do it, as in the SMS Fall Final, and the Bowl. Ron Yuhas appears to have a two point lead over Rob Summers, (taking into consideration the new point system of dropping your two worst finishes). So at least the SK's is a battle to the last lap. I am not sure about the other divisions, but you can certainly tell I am an open wheel fan. Not to discount any of the other divisions, but I certainly don't want to mislead anybody by giving any information that I am not sure about. I do know that jen Pearl and her crew does an awesome job over at www.jeff-pearl.com on the point standings for all the divisions. Check them out for sure...
Thanks Chris!
Anon,
I am kind of overwhelmed at your great comments. This whole thing started because more often then not I was stuck at home and had to scramble around from site to site trying to gather up information about local racing. Since I have great volunteers that call me now I decided to just put it all in one place. And, if it's information that someone else does well, (see above), I try to point you in the right direction. Thanks for the compliment, it means more to me than you could ever know!

well, it turns out it was the rear end and not the tranny. Just another problem weve had along the road. it seems like the night would end well after having both right side trailer tires blow at seperate times on the way to the track. after being 4th in points after the Pepsi 300 we've have nothing but trouble. from getting into other peoples wrecks, to parts breaking, to other unforseen things, its really gone downhill. this weekend it was Jay, Me, and our Crew chief Scott, who works incredibly hard just to get the car to the track. id like to give a big thanks to Jay Lozyniak who spotted for us. if you are looking to work on an sk at the speedbowl, we are looking for people to help out, because we are really down on manpower. Hopefully we can end the season on a high note and bring the car home in one piece.
