Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Thanks so much for these results Rowe24! Were you able to attend yourself? I just couldn't believe what a gorgeous day it was for the race, and I missed it. Lakeville has to be one of the most beautiful settings for racing in the northeast, and if you have never attended, try to make one of the fall shows. Not only great racing, even though a road course, but some of the most lush fall foliage views ever!
Betcha Matt Kobyluck is doing backflips with the season he has had, and with The Mohegan Sun taking over the entire sponsorship of the race from Dodge this year, it was certainly the race for him to win.
Was surprised to see that Dale Quarterly left the race prematurely due to a wreck, he had dominated road courses in the past.

Our site septagenarian attended a huge Pig Roast up at the track on Friday night. I asked him if he was sure he was eating pig! Venison maybe? I am sure someone enjoyed the fruits of the #40's labor....

Yeah, it was a great run for Matt but, not any easy one by any means. The last few laps Mike Olsen was giving Matt all he wanted and more! Matt even got a wheel off course on the uphill on the final lap, kicking up a little dust!, a slight slip by Olsen at the same time gave Matt the breathing room that he needed.
Congrats to Joey Mc Carthy on a great 3rd place run after a hard practice chrash on Friday that undoubtedly had his crew scrambling a little more then they would have liked.
Congrats also go out to "Bubba" Santerre for getting oh so closer too that "Tour For Four" prize! I doubt that there are many out there that would bet against a "Drive for Five!"
Too bad that Dale Quarterely got caught up in that 1st lap mess up on the hill. The car was torn up pretty bad and looked more like a demo derby car then a BNS machine. With his experience on the road circuits I am sure he would have been right there at the finnish.
Though luck for the 2nd and 3rd place point men as Ryan Moore was cuaght up in a late race restart melee that dropped him from a sure top five finnish and out of second place in points if I did the math correctly. Mike Stafanik also had problems losing third gear but was able to hang on for a fifth place finnish. Mikey showed a lot of class by letting a few of the faster cars go on the restarts.
Brian Hoar also had the Dodge flying until a broken axle ended his day in the esses late in the race.
I also had the chance to chat with Mike Olsen and am happy to report that his grandfather, Stubby Fadden is making progress after some recent health set backs. we here at makinglaps.com wish a speedy recovery to Stub.
