Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
The True Value Modified Racing Series (TVMRS) has just two races remaining in the 2005 season. Currently Kirk Alexander holds the top spot sixteen points over 2nd place runner Peter Daniels. After having four weeks off the ground pounders head to the Cement Palace, Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, MA for the D.A.V. Memorial Race October 1st & 2nd. The modifieds will run 100 wheel to wheel green flag laps. Last year Les Hinckley in the Chuck Montville owned number 06 ended the season with two wins 2004. While Kirk Alexander took home the inaugural TVMRS championship. But this year won't end at Seekonk, the mods head to Lee USA Speedway for Oktoberfest weekend, October 22nd and 23rd. Alexander has previously won the only race held this year at Lee USA Speedway. Due to rained out shows earlier in the season TVMRS and the management of Lee Speedway put together a season ending show at Oktoberfest 2005.
Not only is the points championship up for grabs in 2005. Voting is now taking place for the 2005 Most Popular Driver award. As it stands now the top two runners are only separated by 1% of the received votes. Voting ends October 24th and the results will be announced at the TVMRS banquet.
Special Notes:
Seekonk Speedway D.A.V. Memorial Race Pit Admission $35.00 2 day event
Lee USA Speedway will honor TVMRS member id cards and admit members into the pits for $30.00. Cards must be shown at time of admission. Regular admission price for those without cards will be $40.00 for the weekend.$5.00 off coupons will not be honored in conjunction with TVMRS ID Cards.

I've heard so much about the TVMS. I still have yet to take in a race. I live in southern RI. Seekonk is the closest speedway for me but every time the series is in town, I'm out of town! I'll definately catch a few in '06!
It looks as this series is catching on in a big way!! I'm glad to see it grow each year. It's nice to see another asphalt series doing well!
Question, now that Bob Polverari is retiring from the Whelen tour completely, will he be running more TVMS races? Or is he totally retiring? He is pushing 70!! god, I remember Bob running up front all the time when I was a kid.
Haven't heard what Bob's exact plans are SF, but he has "retired" a few times in the past only to return. But if he does decide to hang up the helmet for good, Modified racing will be losing a first class racer for sure.
