Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Who was the last cup driver to wear glasses? I know there are probably a few guys wearing contacts but what I am actually looking for here is the last one you saw who always had glasses on.
contacts are really in style now..... i think because of the full face helmet<health issuse> if you get jarred in a crash you dont want the glasses to move and poke you in the eyes...... before like what johnny benson experianced at mich in the late 90s.... i think he was wearing a open face helmet and his glasses fell off and landed on the floor all folded up.....
i dont think he did....... but if you did a triva question on the last driver you seen smoking it would be him....... he use to have a smoke during the caution laps... :)
Yeah, he is a real work of art. I meet him at Loudon. A friend & I had hot pass tickets for the Busch cars from Todd Bodines car and we meet the #78 Cup team at dinner Sat night. They said stop by so on Sunday we went into the infield and saw the gate for the cup garage and just walked right past the gaurd like we owned the place. We stoped by the 78's garage stall and the #90 Junie Donlevy Helig Meyers car was next to them. Well, then we see Don Fowler and his wife and they introduced us to the ledgary Bob Johnson who was the crew cheif and Dick Trickle. Don is Bobs neighbor and thet is how they were in there. It was a great experience to see the garage area on race morning in person. Wish I was a little younger and unattached so I could follow a dream like Timmy Ladyga is doing.
