Thompson 300 Weekend News & Results 9/10-11/05

Thompson 300 Weekend kicked off on Saturday with many divisional practices and qualifying events.  The SK feature scheduled to run today has just ended and we were lucky enough to hear from our "site septagenarian" who gave us the top five unofficial finishers.

SK 9/10 Feature Event Top Five Finishers:

  1. Ronnie Silk

  2. Tommy Cravenho

  3. Jimmy Blewett

  4. Keith Rocco

  5. Jeff Malave

The 5th place finisher, Jeff Malave, had been leading the regional points until some major misfortune befell him and the team at SMS.  Because there were more than 20 cars entered in today's SK feature, he will receive 20 bonus points along with the regular points from the event.

We hope to also bring you the top five Late Model results from the feature running right now, and will bring you the results from Waterford in the Speedbowl thread.

Busy racing day in New England, and the Richmond night race....a fan's dream!

Late Model Top Six Finshers:

  1. Woody Pitkat

  2. Corey Hutchings

  3. Jeff Hartwell

  4. Jeff Zuidema

  5. Charlie Bailey III

  6. Rick Gentes

Things are progressing nicely over at Thompson, we will be switching gears over to the Speedbowl now, but we certainly will try to bring more news and results from TIS as it comes in.

In the Mini Stock division, although she led quite a few laps, Shelley Perry was relegated to the runner-up postition as Scott Michalski took the checker.

Boy, Tony Hirschman fasted again huh?  Wow, nobody can beat him lately!  But then they redrew the top ten and Carl Patreyak got the pole, and Steve Whitt will be outside.  Just a couple other notables....Chuck Hossfeld and TC will start the 300 9th and 10th respectively, but it's a long race.  Does starting postition really matter as much tomorrow as it would in a regular 150 lap event...we will see.

the Limited Sportsmen are running now, not sure if we will be getting those results, but I was told that will conclude today's events.

Off to the bowl!!

One has to wonder how Hossfeld feels after the Martinsville race? Should TC be worried? Is Hossfeld like that?

Also, I thought Gentes had been tossed for drilling holes in Dennis Perrys spare set of tires about 5-6 weeks ago? I guess it was only for a few weeks.

Thanks for the update.

gotta say that as mad as you probably are right now, gotta respect the way you said what you felt the need to say without bringing yourself down to that other boards level. That was pretty cool you are a gentleman, and he did chop ya, saw it.
