Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Devin Jones raced to an impressive 6th place finish and top Rookie driver -- in his first two Skip Barber races during the series Winter opener at Road Atlanta. The Saturday race followed a two-day test program Jones participated in as he embarks on his open wheel racing program.
The first race was challenging, said Jones. Road Atlanta is a very high speed, technical track. The competition was great. It was nice to race against the many national-caliber drivers that were there. Both races went well.
Following his racing weekend in Atlanta, Jones jumped in a plane to California for a two day Skip Barber testing program at Mazda Raceway/Laguna Seca.
With four days of experience in the Skip Barber car I was really starting feel comfortable while testing at Mazda Raceway/Laguna Seca. We quickly started to post times that would be capable of running up front."
We are looking forward to heading back to Mazda Raceway/Laguna Seca for the Skip Barber Shootout in early December. Thanks to everyone at Skip Barber for all of their help and thanks to Skip Barber, Mazda, Mazda Speed Motorsports Development and BF Goodrich for offering a true motorsports ladder system.
