Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
It's 75 degrees and cloudy down here on the Southeastern Ct shoreline and very humid! There is no chance of rain says weather.com, so I won't post the radar, although it sure looks like rain. I was just outside on the porch and could hear what I am sure was the SK Modifieds running a heat. Sounded like they only ran a lap or two before a caution abruptly put a stop to the action, but within minutes they resumed. We will return with news and results from the track as soon as the checker falls on the first feature....See you here in about an hour or so!

I heard the booing over the cellphone when I was getting the SK results, but since I wasn't there I can't say why it was happening. Somone who was there will have to fill us in. It would only be hearsay coming from me. Sorry.

The qualifying events have run and the Sportsmen feature has been completed. With only 22 SK's on hand tonight, the car count seems to be dwindling in the SK modified division in the past few weeks. The three heat winners were Dennis Gada, Diego Monahan, and Mike Finkeldey, repectively.
Sportsmen Division Top Five Finishers:
Jim Proccosini
Norm Root
Billy Gertsch
John Puglisi
Joe Carusio
The Legends have completed their feature as well, and the SK Modifieds are warming up now.
Legends Top Four Finishers:
Jason Palmer
Juston Dorhety
Chris Bakaj
Mark Bakaj
Remember all finishes are unofficial until WSB and Nascar Officials deem them so...
SK's coming up!

With a few cautions for spins and cars bouncing off eachother the SK feature checker dropped just moments ago. Biggest highlight was a major altercation involving Jeff Pearl who was running second, and Diego Monahan who was running third. They tangled and Jeff Pearl ended up in the 3rd turn wall. Jeff appears to be okay, but the car appears to have sustained heavy damage and does not look as good. Diego Monahan was relagated to the rear upon the restart.
SK Modified Unofficial Full Finish:
Rob Janovic
Ronnie Silk
Dennis Gada
Robbie Summers
Jay Miller
Ernie Bertran
Dennis Charette
Tommy Fox
Ron Yuhas
Tyler Chadwick
Wendell Dailey
Chris Pastreyak
Donny Fowler
Diego Monahan
Pete Pavone
Rich Duranti
Jeff Pearl
Curt Lenihan
Frank MUCCIACCIARO (cut and pasted just for you mrs!, so sorry I always mess it up!)
Mike Finkeldey
Johnny Brouwer
Shawn Monahan
We heard that Shawn Monahan arrived late to the track for unknown reasons, and did not run a qualifying event. He started last in the feature and had tranny problems through the SK main event. Good Luck next week to the team.
We certainly hope that jeff Pearl is okay, and that the car damage is mostly aesthetic. Please someone (Sid or mrs) let us know as soon as you can.
Late Model feature is running now....

While the podium finishing order was being posted I got another call from the track saying that Mark St. Hilaire, (who came across the finish line 4th this evening at the checker), was removed from the 4th spot. We will try to bring you the reason for this, or at least the driver who moved up to 5th, shortly.
Late Model Top Four Finishers:
Allen Coates
Dennis Botticello
Bruce Thomas Jr.
Joe Perry
The Mini Stock Division is running now and is the last feature scheduled to run this evening. Bring you the top five when the checker drops....and hopefully we may know more about the LM finish.

The late Model finish is still being disputed, so we will have to wait until the official word to bring you the 5th place finisher, or even maybe news of Mark St. Hilaire retaining his 4th palce finish.
The Mini Stock race this evening was a 30 Lap extra distance race left over from an earlier rain interrupted show.
Mini Stock Division Top Five Finishers:
Phil Evans
Dave Silvia
Bill Leonard
Chris Williams
Danny Fields
The checker has dropped on another night of racing at the Waterford Speedbowl, and the winners are in the history books. Next week the Whelen Modified Tour will be a guest at the historic shoreline oval. Until next week, we'll save you a seat in the stands

I can somewhat confidently state it appeared Mark St Hilaire lost 1 lap to the field under green conditions. Contact broke something in the RF or at least had a tire going soft for several laps, without caution. Handy work by the Chowder Pot team got him back out...the only thing I could say may be disputed was that at one point, the 3 had made his way back to 3rd in the running order however the track made him restart to the rear as a lapped car, rather than attempt to get his lap back....
...Regarding the 71 of Jeff Pearl...for anyone wondering Jeff seemed to be ok. The car however, unfortunately, was not strictly aesthetic damage. (Sid and the Mrs were MIA...so thought I'd help out!)
Well, it seems Mark St. Hilaire was not reinstated into his position in the Late Model finish, and his loss was Carl Ericsson's gain. Carl was scored with the 5th place finish in last night's event. Thanks to Jason Christley, and the guy who delivers The Day to Making Laps on Sunday morning for that information.

Jeff took a nasty hit. Hit right where I was standing. Yikes..... Heres a like to Pearl's Site with a clip of the crash. http://www.jeff-pearl.com/forum/
I was indeed MIA this week, but all the buzz from the boys was about the Diego/Pearl contact in turn 3. JP.com hooking me up with the video clip - looks as though the Fox Hiller's have a busy week.
Thanks for the rundown on the feature finishes.... this week more than usual you guys came in clutch for my weekly fix....
thanks for lettin' my man Kenny in da house!! See ya next week
