Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Well, it looks like the rain will hold off tonight to allow the running of all the scheduled events at the Waterford Speedbowl. The hourly forecast does call for a chance of thundershowers after 10:00pm.
Tonight is a regular show for all the regular WSB divisions and an added appearance of the American Race Trucks. There are 23 Sk's on hand to run a 35 Lap feature with old timer Elliott Beverage in the #32 SK Modified, making a very rare appearance at the historic shoreline oval. Weeky SK Mod competitor Wendell Dailey had motor trouble and will not compete in tonight's feature event. All qualifying events were completed by 6:40pm, and the features began at 7:00pm with the tentative schedule of events as follows:
Mini Stocks
American Race Trucks
SK Modifieds
Late Models
Sportsmen
We will bring your the Top three (at least) from all divisions, as well as a full finish from the SK's if the track releases it to the public. Keep Watching this thread, as there will be updates as each checker falls!

The American Race Truck feature was a smooth race until a caution with two to go. but it wasn't long before the green came back out and the winner got his trophy. Have to give Kudos to Chris Correll, who came from a second place in the Mini event to win the ART event at the Speedbowl.
American Race Truck Top Five Finishers:
Chris Correll
John Conbit
Bernie Singer
Scott Gregory
Walt Wosko
and the groundpounding Sk's are warming up now....

"A spin here and there, and a minor wreck or two, but no controversy" is how tonight's SK Modified feature was explained to us. The race went quickly, but apparently there are six cars trying to head into tech. It appeared that Shawn Monahan finished 4th, Frank Mucciaciaro finished 5th and Dennis Gada 6th, but who seemed to think he was 5th. Upon the release of the full finish, Shawn Monahan was relegated back to the 11th position, and Frank and Dennis were 4th and 5th respectively, although we do not know why Shawn Monahan was put back, ( a lap?), was it a penalty or did he lose a lap some how?
WSB SK Modified Full Finish:
Chris Pastreyak
Ronnie Silk
Robbie Sommers
Frank Mucciaciaro
Dennis Gada
John Bergenti
Rob Janovic
Russell Lajoie
Ron Yuhas
Jay Miller
Shawn Monahan
Mike Finkeldey
Kevin Konopka
Diego Monahan
Tom Fox
Jeff Pearl
Dennis Charette
Keith Comisky
Mark Pane
Ernie Bertran
Brandon Hanson
Tyler Chadwick
Elliott Beverage
DNS Wendell Dailey
The Late Models are getting ready to take the green shortly...

Dwayne Dorr and Mark Lajoie made contact after the checker, and both were stopped on the track when a car running dead last came barrelling in and ran head on into Dwayne Dorr's passenger side. Dwayne was slow exiting his vehicle, although apparently unhurt.
And another night at the Waterford Speedbowl over by 9:15pm! Could be a record for 5 features...or at least while the ART were running at the Bowl.
The checker has dropped on another weekend of local racing. We will return with LIVE results from SMS on Friday night at 8:30pm in the chatroom, and again next Saturday here, for LIVE results from the Bowl as it comes in. Until then we will save you a seat in the stands....

Sounds like a good night at the bowl. Congrats to the Pasteryak team on a well deserved win. Won't be long before Chris is a full time WMT shoe. Mad props go out to Bruce Thomas Jr. and car owner Pete Arsand on another victory in the LM's. They are a class act on and off the track. Also have to compliment Roger Perry in the SM and Rich Brooks in the MS for thier consistant finishes; keep up the good work!
The 96 LM is going back together. The clip is back on and a new ABC body is being hung. Plans are to go to Seekonk the week before the ACT race and compete in thier weekly show to gear up and go back for the ACT race the next week. Charlie Bailey will once again pilot the car.
Thanks for the updates Conexpcj! We miss ya aound here...Seems like everyone there tonight was happier to retire to the humidity in the parking lot for a cold one than to continue it on the track. Maybe that's why everything went so smoothly!
I for one am excited about the Open Modified show at Seekonk! That is gonna be something. Too bad we couldn't get the weeds (and cobwebs for that matter) out from the old team and car and put something together for that show....

You are probably thinking the SK finished was screwed up because the final finish on the scoreboard had the 31 in 4th. The order of cars never changed on the scoreboard from the restart with 7 to go. Operator or scoreboard error.
Thanks for the heads up Anon, was a bit confused on that one. I remember the #31 being in the top 5, but then not being there at the checker, but as you said the scoreboard showing him 4th. It is Tough somtimes for me to get the SK finishes straight at Wateford and Stafford, until I get a chance to see the full finishes from the track, as it's tough to spot and pay attention to where everybody else finished at times.
Sid, thank you very much for your kind words. I was wondering if you were the same "sid" from JP.com fame, but your trademark "laids" has given it away.
DAMN - I've been called out!!! Ah well, I was never one for flying under the radar (just sit next to me during a 'bowl Mini feature). And thanks right back at ya for the kind words...glad you've read some ramblings of mine.. Although, you probably opened the door for the Big Ballers to be dropping "Mr Famous" everytime I try to get a word in now - yeah great... thanks a lot!!!
just kiddin - it's all good...
thanks for keepin me posted on the tracks I can't make it to
