Greenville-Pickens' Promoter Tom Blackwell Passes Away
Tracks - 4/8/10
Tom Blackwell, who spent 53 years as the Promoter for Greenville-Pickens Speedway (SC) passed away on Wednesday. Blackwell's family owned the track for 47 years before selling it to Kevin Whitaker in 2003. Blackwell remained on board as the General Manager after the sale though and was a fixture at the track. Blackwell's brother, Bill, who served as Greenville-Pickens' Cheif Stewart for nearly five decades passed away in Feburary. Speed51.com offers our thoughts and prayers to the Blackwell family.
