Myers, one of the focus personalities on the History Channel show Madhouse, told track management Saturday night that he'll be at the Speedbowl next Saturday to race in that evening's 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature. Myers will race in the backup car of Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified division regular Jeffrey Paul. "Sounds like a good car, sounds like a good time, I'm ready," Myers said by phone. "I'm a racecar driver and I love to race. If this show is getting me more opportunities to be able to race different cars at different tracks, that's great. I'm really excited about it." Myers, of Walnut Cove, N.C., will also attempt to qualify for the Whelen Modified Tour season opening Icebreaker 150 at Thompson International Speedway, which is scheduled for Sunday April 11 at Thompson. The Whelen Modified Tour will qualify on Saturday afternoon next week at Thompson. Myers, a regular in the Modified division at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C. and a full-timer on the Whelen Southern Modified Tour, finished eighth in the Southern Modified Tour feature Saturday at South Boston (Va.) Speedway. "I didn't have a great day at South Boston so I'm hoping to come up there and redeem myself north of the Mason Dixon line," Myers said. __________________ NASCAR MODIFIEDS...WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.
