Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
It had been announced previously (by me) that NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour competitor Burt Myers may venture North in 2010. Well according to his websites racing schedule Burt will attempt to run the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season opener at Thompson (CT) Speedway. The "Icebreaker" event is scheduled for April 11th.
I'm glad to see they are considering attempting Thompson. It's a good sign for the modified community to see outsiders come and try and compete up here. I think he should run pretty well, he has the equipment and the talent, so it should be a matter of experience and track time that determines how well he runs. Hopefully this opens some doors and eyes and more will try it in the future.
I believe Zach Brewer may also be making the trip but do not take that to the bank. It would be nice to see Jason Myers enter as well. Tim Brown would be a welcome addition as well. I guess we will just have to wait a few more weeks to see. It definitely adds even more excitement to the season opener though knowing we have Southern invaders coming.

Was reading on another site and saw the question of what number Burt would run if Rob Summers was entered. I would say Buert would still get #1 being he runs the full Southern Tour anyone know better than me?????
