In winston cup racing, the cars where downsized, 115 to 105 wheel base ,what year did it happen and what problems did it cause???????

Scott, The shorter wheelbase cars were flipping over if they became the least bit sideways. Cale Yarborough's  200+ qualifying run at Daytona. RMF

that is correct....... 1981 was the year of the downsizing of the cars........ in the spring testing greg sacks took a  RCR R&D car and flipped it bad at daytona........... furthermore,  in the 125s in speedweeks......  2 cars went flipped after spinning , 1 was connie saylor and the other was the late john anderson<he did not die in a racecar but a auto accident in 1986>  hard to beleave but it took almost 20 years to figure out how to keep those cars from flipping!!!!!!  IE roof flaps.....
