Penn-Can dirt modified regular Darwin Greene will make his pavement debut at New Smyrna Speedway during speedweeks 2009. Piloting a Zacharias family owned 2008 troyer car Greene who won his career first modified feature this past season has always wanted to try asphalt racing. "Im just happy that I will get to drive a racecar more often" Referring to the fact that he will also be in competition when the Dirt modifieds invade Volusia County Speedway on February 10th-14th. Darwin already has 2 brand new 2009 Bicknell dirt modifieds ready for his 3rd trip to speedweeks in Florida. With the dirt cars not hitting the tracks until Wednesday the 10th, Darwin will get to race 4 asphalt Modified races at New Smyrna on Friday February 6th thru tuesday the 10th before the dirt competition starts. "It will be a learning experience that's for sure" said Greene. If everything works out Darwin plans on hitting more asphalt races during the season including the Josh Jenkins memorial at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, North Carolina on March 6th-7th and select Roc events as well.
