Former Busch North series driver Paul Wolfe, who had been part of the rotation of drivers that Evernham Motorsports crew chief Tommy Baldwin Jr, (former owner of the #6) had used last year, has been released from his driving duties by the #6 teams new owner Ray Evernham. Wolfe, who had struggled in his first few starts last season, had seemed to improve this season with some suprising qualifying efforts and some good race day performances at Daytona and California, but then failed to qualify at Mexico City and Las Vegas. Evernham has recently been pleased with the performance of his young female racing prodigy, World of Outlaws driver and another local northern talent Erin Crocker, in testing in the Busch series cars and hopes to run in her in selected series events some time this season, but for now his Nextel Cup series drivers Jeremy Mayfield and Kasey Kahne will run some events in the #6.
