So will there be a big time "open" Modified show at Thompson International Speedway in 2009?
We think track owner Don Hoenig is seriously looking into the possibility.
Our vote is for an SK Modified show that starts about 32 cars, pays about $25,000 to win, about $5,000 for second and pays enough for last place that it will cover the cost of the weekend for any team.
Imagine the last 10 laps of that race. Imagine how many guys would find rides to get into that show. Pattern the format after the Banknorth Oxford 250 and it's undoubtedly a winner.
