Waterbury, VT – The Allen Lumber Company, one of the oldest family-owned businesses in the state of Vermont, has again signed on to present the Allen Lumber Street Stock division at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, VT in 2005. The agreement extends an official partnership between the Allen Lumber and Thunder Road families that began in the 1980s, and a relationship that began long before that.
“My family has been going to Thunder Road since it opened in 1960, and we love it,” said Allen Lumber Treasurer Burnie Allen. “We’re all very excited about the upcoming season; we always have such a wonderful time watching the Street Stocks and the other divisions at Thunder Road.”
Allen Lumber’s motorsports background dates back to the early 1980s, including the sponsorship of top drivers Robbie Crouch and Kevin Lepage. In 1989, Allen Lumber began presenting Thunder Road’s Street Stock division annually, a tradition that continues in 2005.
“The best advertising dollars Allen Lumber spends each year are with the Street Stocks at Thunder Road,” Burnie Allen continued. “We get more bang for our buck there than in any other area of our advertising, and we appreciate the race fans a lot for that. We are very much looking forward to another great year at Thunder Road.”
Allen Lumber operates four convenient locations throughout the state, including Montpelier, Barre, Waitsfield, and St. Johnsbury. Since 1888, Allen Lumber has consistently been on the cutting edge of the industry’s technology, most recently in areas such as inventory software and computer-aided designing. A full product line of doors, windows, kitchens, baths, and tools is also available. More information can be found at www.allenlumbercompany.com.
