Hey Openwheel, Roger Raymond is a good guess but it's not him. As a hint I will say that this photo comes from the late '70s and that this driver is still active today.
Openwheel, you got it! That is none other than "Dynamite Dave" Dion in the Cougar, circa '77/'78. Dave always ran the number 27 until heading south to run the cup series, in I believe '79. Since the #27 was taken, he switched to #29 and has raced with that number ever since.
Don't tell OpenWheel I told you, but he actually had Dave Dion typed in the posting block at first! Then he stared at it a while, while rubbing his head, and after some colorful remarks, he hit backspace a number of times and typed in Roger Raymond! I was of no help, I didn't know who it was. Boy is he mad at himself... Great question rowe24, keep em coming!
