Civali to return this season, run limited schedule in 09?

Gary Danko commented on his radio show The Speedway Line Report that James Civali, is rumored to possibly return before this season is over, and run a limited schedule in 2009.

Danko went on to say there was no confirmation on who the car owner would be, but that it was rumored people would be "very suprised" who it might be.

I can tell you one thing and that is the sponsor will not be MR. CLEAN products. Also Big Wayne doesn't come cheap either$$$and he fits in a VETTE much better than a Rabbit!!!

He Hasn't commited to anything for next year yet.
He will be at Thompson, and may very well firm up plans for next year with a current owner on the tour.

If the right situation comes along he may come back.
There are plenty of owners on the Tour that would like a winning young driver in their seat.
He just needs the right deal.

Latest info I heard was its gonna be an all chrome 29 owned by Jerry Robinson, which would explain why he can't pay anyone at the Bowl.

On a more serious note, last I heard over the weekend that James was just gonna be sitting on the couch next Sunday.

James will not be sitting on the couch.
He will be at Stafford on Sunday this week with me and thompson next week.

At least you got the number right.
But it will be a yellow and red #29
Brand new Troyer Chassis and Brand new Hutter power.
We will soon see what the best driver and equiptment can do on the tour

Good luck then. Hopefully he gets put on the roster then. Even Keith Rocco made it on there already along with 33 others

James will be in the Bono #7ny in Stafford and Thompson, and next year he will be running the full season in the #44 Busch North owned by Andy Santeere. He will be moving to Concord North Carolina along with his family where Civali front row auto will be moved.

Actually, Civali will possibly practice and qualify and possibly race Eric Berndts #64 this weekend at Stafford, as Eric is feeling under the weather.

Rumor is Joe Bought the Troyer Chassis, and Rabbit Bought the brand new Hutter power.  Its up tp James if he wants to drive it.
Personally I hope he sits home and never races again. I was insulted by his remarks of not wanting to be that "saturday night racer " being that guy has suited the career or Ted Christopher, Bill Slater, and that other guy ... what was his name..... Ritchie....... Of yea Evans.......
Sorry your 'Cup ride didnt come through James, I know its hard watching Joey have so much sucess, but being that "saturday Night Guy" has served many of a legend just fine.

First of all:

James will drive a race car again.
BUT it will be in the right deal.
He has talked with me about that "right deal".

You may not like him, and that's OK.
But to see how far the 28 team has fallen without him is a shame.
I was listening to the 28 team on Sunday.
It was a Joke.
That's all I'll say.
If you have a scanner listen to them, you'll laugh too.

Second:
Yes you are correct.
The day after he was let go from the 28 he was offered a car to drive.
A Troyer and a Hutter.
The same offer stands for this week at Thompson.
He was also offered another car to drive at Thompson  on Saturday.
But as of today he's not commiting to anything.
He wants that "right deal".
If it comes, fine if it doesn't he OK with that too.

Third:
Don't know why you would be insulted by anything he says.
I doubt your a racer.
If you were , you would see that he was one of the best drivers on the Tour.

End of story

Just one more thing:
James and Joey couldn't be more opposite.
But James and Joey are not only brothers they are the best of friends.
If you mess with one of them you get them both.

And Joey's a better driver than half the guy's on the Tour now.

King and the guys have done pretty good this year. With three drivers they have scored a bunch of top tens, a couple top fives, and even a couple top threes. So to say "how far they have fallen" is pretty unfair. If you are measuring by wins, I'm sure victory lane looks pretty easy to get to from your cozy seat up there in the grandstands, but let me tell you its not! So any time you want to measure a team, carry yourself to the back gate, buy yourself a pit pass, and go pick up a wrench! And if you have in the past, I can tell you the level of comp. is much different then it was before. I have been on this tour for many years and I haven't been there in about five years.

Have you ever seen the movie Days of Thunder?
Cole Trickle couldn't tell the crew what to  do to the car to make it better.
Neither could the driver of the 28 Sunday.
A top notch driver knows what he wants.
If Civali was given a car that was good he'd still be on the Tour.

B) I was a racer, so you can drop that rehtoric..... I didnt say James wasn't talented, I said I was insulted by his comments putting down the Saturday night Racer.

C) I did happened to listen the King Team on Sunday, I hear Coby ask for what he wanted, and get it. I didnt see where he couldnt communicate to the team what he needed.

D) I stand by my statment that I hope James dosent get the " Right Deal" James is a weapon on the track, who thinks the Nascar upper tier owes him something. I think James is where he belongs on the sidelines making excuse for not wanting to be in  car.

The only time Coby said ANYTHING about wanting something was at the last caution.
He wanted right sides and a left front.
He was solidly in the top 10.
There were 21 cars on the lead lap.
Restarting with less than 10 laps to go.
Bad call dude no mater how you slice it.
The first pit stop he didn't have a clue what to do to  the car, the owner told the crew what to do.

There are many people who don't want James in a Tour car.
Mostly drivers.
That would mean one less car in the field to beat.
Because if he can win in a Raceworks he'd really be a force in a Troyer.
4 wins in 2 and a half years, not bad.
Rookie of the year in 2006, with one win, could have taken the last 2 races of and still won it.

In the words of Al Davis"Just win baby just win".

Ok folks, so far this thread has been borderline civil. Let's just watch the personel attacks on the King#28 team, Coby, and Civali.

Your more than welcome to continue the discussion, just watch where your headed with the personel jabs at the aformentioned parties listed above.

Funny how when James drove the #28 King Racing raceworks/bruneau car it was as fast as a rabbit with 4 wins/13 top fives and 22 top tens. But now they are no good?, the motor program is behind?, The crew is "laughable? the chassis are out dated?" Yet they have 6 top tens, 3 top fives, and a couple top threes. And all this with two different drivers! A lot of teams would HOPE to be that bad. I guess if I kept sticking my foot in my mouth I would need a cast for it also.

To Mr Rabbit (cause we all know its you),

I have a lot to say to you...

I really wish we could rewind to your comments about the 28 team, Don, the car, and James when James was still in the car. If I remember correctly, it was the BEST team, the BEST driver, the BEST car, the BEST EVERYTHING!!!
Funny how you change your mind so quickly.

Another thing, when you do actually go to the races, do you ever hang out at peoples trailers to hear what kind of discussions go on? Its all racing, set-up and strategy! These conversations dont just take place on the track or over the radio. So to say that Doug didnt know what he wanted or that Don makes all the calls, NOT TRUE! There are YEARS of notes, weeks of discussions and serious hours put in before the race. Any driver, car owner, crew cheif can tell you that its input from all sides that creates the best finishes. Oh wait..maybe thats where the word TEAM comes from?? So if Doug or Don didnt say enough for your liking on Sunday, the reason is, it was all discussed and planned before hand. Being PROACTIVE! Wow, what an idea!

Also, you made a comment about James would still be in a tour car if he was in a good one? Umm, I didnt get the memo. Did he quit the 28 team? No, dont think so!

Now, I would never say a bad thing about James. I think hes an amazing driver (one of the best in the Northeast), and I think hes awesome with his knowledge on set-ups. I would love to see him in someones car.

However, to BAD-Mouth the team, car, engine, chassis builder, and Owner of the 28 is just pathetic to me. And to say that theyve gone down-hill since the split is absolutely ridiculous! Someone wrote the stats on this thread since Doug and Woody have been driving...they are pretty impressive to me!

Im not quite sure what youre trying to acheive by all your posts but one thing I know is this; you love James and youll stand by him no matter what. But what you dont realize is that youre SINGLE HANDEDLY making everyone HATE him!!

As far as the 28...they dont need your approval. They know that Don puts in 150% effort and Don knows that the crew guys and drivers put in 150% effort.
But as far as James goes..why dont you try CREATING support for him instead of RUINING it all.

If my team ever folded, my first pick would be King Racing.  Don King is one of the most respectfull guys I have ever met. The way he treats his crew members and drivers is commendable. If you listening to them on the scanner you can hear how they are not only team members, but friends. And that is how they are outside the track also. I only see them at the track, but I have heard about the parties on the Island! And on the track their record speaks for itself, so obviously the equipment and professional knowhow is there.
As for James, what happened between him and Don should be kept between him and Don. James is one of the most talented drivers out there today, and that is something that cant even be argued. His absence from this division is obviously missed, if it wasnt then there wouldnt be threads like this one still being carried on after close to three months.
In closing, I think the mud slinging should come to an end from the readers and writers of this thread. Both King Racing and James Civali deserve that much.

first off i havent responded to mr "anon" 's comments because i refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent , but since he dragged me into it by doing what he does best spewin garbage here goes: rabbit stop hiding behind the computer as i told you on another message board put your big boy pants on buy that troyer and that hutter and come on out and play, its real easy to sit on this computer and monday morning quaterback any teams decisions whether there are over the radio,or in person last time i checked my record from the grandstands is still 1000% i havent lost a race yet as far as me headin to the 93 fact is i consider all the crew, driver and his parents good friends of mine......something you probably dont have any of!!!!!!!!!!!! in fact the crew chief will be staying in our camping circle this weekend does that mean hes workin with us next year?and as far as your previous post that im in bed with my car owner i have stayed at his house his beach cottage and in his toter home but never in his bed or him in mine neither of us swing from that side of the plate ..... don king is one of the few people in this world i would take a bullet for they dont come much better than him, with him its like joe would say "unconditional" and i thank joe sr,joe jr and james for bringin me to this team that being said this is by far one of the best group of guys to go to "war" with on any race day but again rabbit you wouldnt know that cause you dont seem like much of a team player to me so do us all favor and show up at thompson this weekend meet the guy(don king)that you talk so much smack about face to face then come see me ......if you have the intestanal fortitude.by the way all of us at king racing feel the same about james driving ability one of the best.....but all good things come to an end just like this post .............wayne okula team manager28 king racing

Well Ms. King and Mr Team Manager.
I am the Rabbit.
I haven't posted on this site for a long time.
Got a phone call from the guy who you should be blamming telling me of these posts.
I am not a registered user here since the last time I took a hit or a post that wasn't mine.
If your team manager will think back to sunday when I was talking to Shadow he will remember the guy who was with me there.
When he started bad mouthing Mr. King I stop him and told him that he wasn't being fair.
Ask Shadow Mr. Manager, I'm sure he will back me up.
He seems to me to be an honest person.
I have no problem what so ever with Mr.King.
In fact I posted elsewhere Mr. King was good for james, he gave him a chance.
And James was good for him, he taught him how to win.
That was at the time my only public comment.

auto racing  is not the  high light of my life.
I don't care who wins or loses.

the team manager should know that I like much better to do a face to face when I have a problem with someone or they with me, as I did with him at the garage about a month ago.
If you Ms. King or Mr Kig or team manager have a problem with me the manager has my phone # call me I'll meet any of you anywhere any time.

In Fact I saw the Rabbit on pit road just this past Sunday at Thompson................But too bad when the pit party ended he was sent back to the grandstand where he belongs! Back to your hole wabbit!

I think he will dirve next  year in some of the better paying races and it may very  well be in the second hillbilly car.
It won't be in a car he has already driven on the tour.
