Tonights racing action seemed to go more smoothly than last night, but some of the top contenders were not without trouble. The podium finishers were as follows:


Modified Tour-Type Division



  1. Chuck Hossfeld
  2. Eric Beers
  3. Teddy Christopher

SK Division



  1. Mike Holdridge
  2. Dave Michael
  3. Tom Farrell

Super Late Model Winner was Louis Mecalides! (TC 5th)

Night #3 of Modified Competition At New Smyrna Speedway.


All modified and SK competitors enjoyed the night off last night, (as well as MakingLaps and our staff).  We will return tonight with live updates in the MakingLaps.com chatroom, as well as here in the NSS thread.


Of Local interest the Super Late Models did run a feature yesterday, and CONCRETE EXPRESS and Chris have listed the top three, and of course Teddy's finish, in the "night off" thread.

A long night, but it's finally over.  TC went on to get his first double header of the series, by winning both the Super Late Model and MOD events.


The Modified Podium:

Note: Rumors have Beers being disqualified awaiting official finish

The official finish from last night, night#6, has Eric Beers in the Zacharias #71, holding on to the win.  We wanted to give you the information prior to becoming official, because there was some controversy in the infield last night whether or not he would retain the win.  It seems he did.  Side note: A development in the Super Late Model division, as the Cushman team has withdrawn the #29 that Ted Christopher was piloting, because of damage from a Thursday night feature event crash.

The final night of racing at New Smyrna has been completed and here are the podium finishers:

Ted Christopher finished 5th and was crowned 2005 NSS MOD CHAMPION


SK Mod:

Unofficially   Steven Reed is the 2005 NSS SK MOD CHAMPION


And in the Super Late Models Louie Mecalidas was crowned the 2005 NSS CHAMPION
