Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
During last fall's Martinsville NNC race, signs of animosity were apparent between Penske teammates Rusty Wallace and Ryan Newman. With five laps left in the race, and the two both running in the top five, a collision lost Rusty valuable spots, while Newman continued on to finish third.
Newman expressed that he feels,"teammates don't normally compete against eachother", while Rusty feels he deserves more than normal teammate respect, due to his "car owner" status. Wallace assured Nascar.com in an interview that, "The issue will be resolved prior to Daytona Speedweeks." With this being Rusty's final year, who will back down? Only time will tell. I always loved a little teammate "butt-heading"!
Here's one from the past. Just read on the NASCAR.com site that Jeremy Mayfield will be riding in Rusty's Busch car. After all they've been through, who would have thought. Seems they have hashed things up and respect each other now. Think this is true?? I have to laugh at that one. Rusty is getting a little too soft.
