Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
It worked last year. Brain child of Brian France, the playoff of NASCAR, "the Chase for the Cup" is returning in 2005. Many drivers voiced concerns at first, but during the last ten races, almost all the drivers gave their thumbs up. Television ratings were up, as were blood pressures, and tensions. It is in human nature to resist change, but how many of us really feel that Kurt Busch is actually champion? Not me, I watched Jeff Gordon in interviews a few times, and even he thinks that he should have been champion. I vote for two, one regular point champion, and then the Chase champion. Then they run a shootout, maybe a 100 lap race in equally matched "IROC" type cars. How cool would that be? And as always, this is my humble opinion.
Please vote in the poll above to pick the drivers you think will be in this year's NASCAR Nextel Cup Series' "Chase for the CUP"? Pick up to 10 drivers that you think will make the chase in 2005!

Not if he got close enough that Kurt had the chane to wreck him!
I really, really think that this idea should be submitted to NASCAR. Not because it was my idea but my GOD, who really thinks that Busch would've won. Not to beat a dead horse, but I woke up this morning and had to say when I think about the upcoming TV coverage coming up and having to see Busch as reigning champion, I want to puke, honestly.
Sorry. I digress...
I know Jeff would run that match race, but would Kurt........

Gee, the first playoff season ended well??? People were off the edge of their seats with the heated action??? My favorite JUST MISSED the Top 10!!! Why should I, and many others in same situation, be happy for playoffs??? My guy now has NO CHANCE to even make Top 10!!! Of course the points could have been too far away to reach it anyway, but then again, the points could be close enough to garnish a Top 10.
As always MakingLaps.com's Forum welcomes all comments and criticism from our Users. Anonymously, or from registered members, your posts will not be deleted unless they contain vulgarity or "bashing", unlike most message boards out there.

This is a good observation, anonymous. What makes this message board special is our opportunity to bring a comprehensive forum to our Users by having sections dedicated to all types of racing. When we started it, (only recently), and then switched formats over the last month, we solicited friends who had worked in the respective divisions to become moderators for those sections. This has brought the number of moderators and administrators quite high, and most of them post frequently in all areas of the board, and we appreciate their support in all other areas of the board. We encourage this, but we also encourage and will continue to allow anyone to post anonymously, as it is a time saver, and some people feel more comfortable posting that way, as you did. Our mods, admin staff, registered users, and anonymous posters have one thing in common, they are all racefans. -The Bratmaster
