Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Jefferson, GA (March 17, 2008) Teams who travel Georgia Asphalt Series understand that sometimes missing a race can really mess up their season, especially if they are running for points. GAS Series officials have taken a serious look at this issue and have come up with a solution though a "Mulligan Rule."
"We understand that sometimes you can't make a race due to family issues or failing to qualify for a race or not getting you car back together due to an engine failure or accident," said Vince Whitmire, GAS Series Promoter. " We're also going to allow teams to throw out their worst finish, even if they run all the GAS Series races."
In a nutshell, only 11 of the 12 races will count for drivers who compete in all 12 events, enabling drivers to throughout their worst finish..
The Mulligan Rule will go into affect at the first GAS Series race at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia on March 29th.
