Wood skips Vegas, Sauter to run #21: Jon Wood told Mike Bagley and David Poole this morning on "The Morning Drive" (Sirius NASCAR Radio 128) that he will step aside for this weekend's Sprint Cup UAW Dodge 400 at Las Vegas. Jon feels he is not ready to drive his family's car this weekend due to lack of experience in NASCAR's new race car. He has elected to take a pass and let Johnny Sauter take the wheel. The Wood Brothers decided to put Sauter in the car because they feel he is the best qualifier that was available. Bill Elliott was unavailable for this weekend's event due to other commitments. Wood's next Sprint Cup race is scheduled to be the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowes Motor Speedway in May.(Sirius NASCAR Radio)(2-27-2008)
