#5 car too low in Bud Shootout post-tech: Casey Mears' #5 Chevy was determined to be too low during Budweiser Shootout postrace inspection. Mears finished sixth in the race, his first with the Hendrick Motorsports #5 Sprint Cup team. Jim Hunter, NASCAR's Vice President of Corportate Communications, said NASCAR will continue investigating the issue today. "It might have some damage," Hunter said. UPDATE: Casey Mearss #5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy was too low in post-race inspection after finishing sixth in Saturday nights Budweiser Shootout. But the car suffered collision damage in the race and NASCAR officials said Sunday the car had been cleared and no penalties would be issued.(SPEEDtv.com)(2-11-2008)
