Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Perry, NY: A headline like that is bound to catch some attention Join us on Saturday, October 6th for the Coca-Cola Fall Shootout! Wyoming County International Speedway proudly presents an action-filled day of stock car entertainment as our season of motorsports quickly comes to an end.
This short track big event is guaranteed to be full of great competition and featuring a season championship tour event for the SST Modified Series. Former SST driver Butch Drennen #7D will also be remembered as a friend to all racers. Teams from across the Northeast will join the Perry home track boys at the WCIS BullRing to chase the checkered. Top teams, representing Holland, Lancaster, Chemung and Spencer will circle the 1/3-mile oval at speeds exceeding 100 mph (@ 14.9 seconds).
Former WCIS 1998 Super Stock champion Dave London #89 will also be remembered in a 50-lap tribute race in his name. Daves son, Jody London (Gater Boy), will be present to wave the honorary green flag!
Lap money donations are being collected for both feature racing events. This money will then be distributed back to the teams within the top ten positions of most all the laps. The racers of our region are thankful for those who have dedicated their time to generate the additional prize money.
Representatives from the Spalding Foundation will also be on hand to accept fan donations on behalf of their injured driver fund. This fund has assisted Southern Tier racers in many ways over the past years, and this is our way to say thank you.
Rounding out the Coca-Cola Shootout ticker, LMP Street Stocks, 4 Cylinder stocks and Mini Cups will join the show. Representatives from Coca-Cola will be on hand with complimentary drinks for race fans to enjoy! Pit gates will open early for SST tech at 10 AM, general admission at noon and racing begins at 2:30 PM.
