ACTion Super Series Sizzling at Kawartha Speedway
$50,000 race a first in Ontario for ACT Late Models

For Immediate Release                                        ACT-090607-1

FRASERVILLE, ON The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car racing series makes its long-awaited return
to Ontario on Saturday, September 15, as Fraservilles Kawartha Speedway hosts the ACTion Super Series $50,000
Summer Sizzler 200 at 6:00 pm.  As many as 40 Late Model race teams from Ontario, Quebec, and the northeastern
United States are expected to attempt qualifying at the fast 4/10-mile, progressively-banked oval just outside the
city of Peterborough.
I cant wait to go out to Kawartha for the first time, said Vermont driver Brent Dragon, a former winner
of the historic VT Milk Bowl at his home track, Thunder Road.  I spoke with Donald Theetge (of Quebec City) who
has raced there, and he says were going to love the place.
Kawartha Speedways increasingly steeping banked corners allow for multi-lane, side-by-side action, while
its long front- and back-straightaways produce top speeds of 130 miles per hour.  The Summer Sizzler 200 will be
just the second ACT-sanctioned event in Ontario since 1993.  A handful of ACT Late Model Tour racers tested the
Kawartha Speedway waters at the first Summer Sizzler in 2004, when the event was an open-competition race.  Six-
time ACT Champion and current point leader Jean-Paul Cyr of Vermont was among them.
Its an awesome track, said Cyr.  I would suggest Kawartha to anyone that has a Late Model car,
anywhere.  Its not like any other track we race on; the straightaways are very long and fast, and there are a lot
of G-forces when you drive down into the corners.  Two hundred laps of that will be tough on a lot of drivers.
Three-time CASCAR National Champion Dave Whitlock of Wyoming, ON took the inaugural Sizzler victory.  He was
followed into victory lane by Kirk Hooker in 2005 and Jeff Hanley last year.  The 2007 ACTion Super Series Summer
Sizzler 200 will pay a whopping $6,000 to the race winner and $800 for the 34th-place (last) finisher.
The best memories I have for ACT were the glory days of the early 1990s when we covered Ontario from
border to border, said ACT President Tom Curley.  For me and a lot of others, ACT returning to its Ontario fan
base at Kawartha Speedway is definitely one of the highlights of the 2007 season.  I am particularly excited about
showing Ontario fans our New Breed of drivers like Scott Payea, Randy Potter, and Roger Brown, and also giving
the old-timers someone to root for with names like Robbie Crouch, Jamie Aube, and the Dragon family.
Following an optional practice session on Friday afternoon (4pm-7pm), a chicken barbeque will be open for
the public with live entertainment from 8:00pm to Midnight.  Tickets for Fridays festivities are just $10.  Also
on speedway grounds is a beautiful casino compete with slot machines, bingo, and more, open 24 hours a day.
Sizzler Saturday begins at 8:00am as the pit gates open.  ACT Late Model practice will begin at 1:30pm.
The green flag drops on qualifying action for the $50,000 ACTion Super Series Summer Sizzler 200 at 6:00pm.
Kawartha Speedway is located in Fraserville, Ontario on County Road 28, just off Highway 115 and Highway
401.  For more information, including directions, lodging, and registration, call (802) 244-6963 or visit

Kawartha Speedway Point Leader Larry Jackson Enters Summer Sizzler 200
Three-time ACT Champion Junior Hanley to serve as crew chief

For Immediate Release                                ACT-091007-1

FRASERVILLE, ON Canadian stock car star Larry Jackson of Oakville, ON will lead a contingent of home-
track drivers in Saturdays $50,000 Summer Sizzler 200 for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models at
Kawartha Speedway in Fraserville, ON.  ACT makes its long-awaited return to Ontario with the Summer Sizzler 200
for the ACTion Super Series on Saturday (Sept. 15) at 6:00 pm.  With an astounding record of six main event
victories and podium finishes in all 11 Late Model feature races at Kawartha Speedway in 2007, Jackson tops the
tracks point standings.
Weve been working on our car all week to get ready for the ACT race, said the driver of the Gary
Jackson Trucking/Mountain Dew Chevrolet.  Admittedly, Jackson says he does not know much about the group of ACT
racers invading his turf, but hopes that it does not matter.  We have a good handle on Kawartha; I think we have
a chance to do well no matter who were racing against, he said.
A veteran of Late Model and open-wheel Modified competition in the United States and Canada, Jackson is
prepared for the long 200-lap race distance.
Ive raced in a few Oswego 200s in New York with the Race of Champions (Modified) Tour and I have a
thrifty car owner that knows how to make a little budget go a long way, Jackson laughed, so Im used to
conserving tires longer than most drivers.  Ironically, Jacksons two worst Kawartha Speedway Late Model finishes
of the season have come in extra-distance 100-lap events in June and August.  Fortunately for him, however, he
still finished third in both races.
Jacksons team will pack star power throughout its core at the $6,000-to-win Summer Sizzler 200, as three-
time ACT Champion and Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame member Junior Hanley fills the role of crew chief.  With
the help of Hanley, Jackson will challenge six-time and defending ACT Late Model Tour Champion and current point
leader Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, VT, and top-ten point drivers Scott Payea (Milton, VT), Rocket Roger Brown
(Lancaster, NH), Joey Pole Polewarczyk (Hudson, NH), Ron Henry (Portland, ME), and Donald Theetge (Quebec City).
Late Model cars have an optional practice session from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 14, followed by
a chicken barbecue and live entertainment until midnight.  Green flag qualifying action for the $50,000 ACTion
Super Series Summer Sizzler 200 begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 15.  For more information, call (802) 244-
6963, or visit www.acttour.com.

Robbie Thompson Aims for $6,000 Victory at Kawartha Speedway

For Immediate Release                                        ACT-091407-1

FRASERVILLE, ON Late Model stock car driver Robbie Thompson of South Hampton, Ontario is anxious to get
his name into the record books as an American-Canadian Tour (ACT) race winner.  Thompson will take his best shot
at the $6,000 winners share of the $50,000 ACTion Super Series Summer Sizzler 200 at Fraserville, ONs Kawartha
Speedway on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
I want to win this race bad, the whole team does, said Thompson, driver of the Shear Metal
Products/McColl Racing Ford Fusion.  Weve done very well in the big shows at Kawartha in the last few years, and
it would mean a lot to get our first ACT win there.
Thompson, 35, is a two-time champion of the ALSTAR Late Model Series in Ontario, and has race wins at
tracks throughout the province.  In ACT Late Model Tour events at two of the toughest tracks on the 2007 schedule,
Thompson established himself as a contender.  After picking an impressive season debut at the 5/8-mile paperclip-
shaped Circuit Ste-Croix near Québec City in June, he brought home a sixth-place finish from 28th starting
position in the ACTion Super Series 200 at the flat 4/10-mile Autodrome St-Eustache (Montréal) in July.  He also
owns a trio of runner-up finishes at Kawartha Speedway, including the Summer Sizzler in 2005 and a 100-lap Late
Model race last month.
Weve run well this year with our new car, and were very confident that we can compete with the ACT
leaders at Kawartha, said Thompson.  Jean-Paul Cyr, Roger Brown, and Joey Pole each have some experience at
Kawartha, but I think I might have the home advantage still.
Cyr, Brown, and Joey Pole Polewarczyk tested the track in 2004 in various events, and currently occupy
positions one, three, and six, respectively, in ACT Late Model Tour point standings.  Cyr, of Milton, Vermont, is
a six-time and defending champion of the series.  New Hampshire racers Brown (Lancaster) and Polewarczyk (Hudson)
have each scored major event wins stateside in 2007.  Other likely contenders for the $6,000 Summer Sizzler 200
victory include Vermont veterans Brent Dragon (Milton) and Robbie Crouch (Burlington), New Hampshire hotshoes
Randy Potter (Groveton) and Jamie Aube (Concord), Québecs Donald Theetge and Montréals Patrick Laperle, and
Ontarians Larry Jackson of Oakville, Dan McHattie of Cavan, Steve Munro of Carp, and Linc Brown of Coburn.
Green flag qualifying action for the $50,000 ACTion Super Series 200 begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Sept.
15.  A chicken barbecue and dance with live entertainment ignites the Sizzler weekend festivities on Friday at
7:00 pm.  Kawartha Speedway is located on County Road 28 in Fraserville, ON, just minutes from the city of
Peterborough.  For more information on the Summer Sizzler 200, call ACT at (802) 244-6963 or visit www.acttour.com.

Talented Mix of Late Model Stars Expected for ACTion Super Series at Kawartha

For Immediate Release                                        ACT-091307-1

FRASERVILLE, ON The best Late Model stock car drivers from the northeastern United States and eastern
Canada are expected to do battle at Ontarios Kawartha Speedway on Saturday (Sept. 15) for the 6:00 pm running of
the $50,000 ACTion Super Series Summer Sizzler 200 for the American-Canadian Tour.  Race winners and champions
from several regions are preparing to race for the $6,000 top prize at the beautiful 4/10-mile oval.
Racing with ACT is a pretty big thrill for us in Ontario, said Kawartha Speedway top gun Linc Brown of
Coburn, ON.  We followed the Tour as fans when Junior Hanley, Kim Wallace, and all of our local heroes were
racing.  Now we get to race with an organization weve always known and respected.  Its our equivalent to the
Daytona 500, truthfully.  Brown, a two-time winner at Kawartha in 2007, will be part of a strong contingent of
home-track regulars looking to win this weekend in the first ACT event in Ontario since 1993.
Québecs Patrick Laperle, the Série ACT Castrol point leader and former Chittenden Milk Bowl winner at
Vermonts Thunder Road, will travel to Kawartha Speedway for the first time.  People have told me that Kawartha
is one of the nicest race tracks in Canada or the U.S., said the Montréal-area native.  Im looking forward to
the progressive banking in the corners, Im told it makes the side-by-side racing very competitive.  Laperle won
the first ACTion Super Series event of the season at his home track at Autodrome St-Eustache in July, and is
trying to hold off Sylvain Lacombe for the first championship of his career.
Teenage sensation Joey Pole Polewarczyk, Jr. of New Hampshire will make his second trek to Kawartha
Speedway.  He competed at the first Summer Sizzler event in 2004 under open-competition rules.  Kawartha is one
of the best tracks Ive ever been to, from Florida to Canada.  It is one awesome track, he said.  Polewarczyk
earned his first career ACT Late Model Tour victory at Seekonk Speedway on the Massachusetts seacoast in August,
and currently ranks sixth in overall standings.
Other expected entries for the $6,000-to-win ACTion Super Series Summer Sizzler 200 include multi-time ACT
Champions Jean-Paul Cyr, Brian Hoar, and Robbie Crouch, TD Banknorth Oxford 250 winner Rocket Roger Brown, and
three-time NASCAR Champion Jamie Aube.  They will face Kawartha Speedway regulars Linc Brown, Dan McHattie, Bryan
Mercer, and current point leader and six-time winner Larry Jackson.
Green flag qualifying action for the Summer Sizzler 200 begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Spectator gates open at 1:00 pm on Saturday for practice sessions.  A chicken barbecue and dance with live
entertainment kick off the weekends festivities on Friday night, following an optional Late Model practice
session.  Kawartha Speedway is located on County Road 28 in Fraserville, ON, and is part of a complex that
includes an award-winning restaurant, a harness racing track, and a 24-hour casino.  For more information, call
ACT at (802) 244-6963 or visit www.acttour.com.
