From Speed51.com:

Speed51.com has learned that James Civali will drive the #79 Hillbilly Racing Modified in Friday night's NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event at Caraway Speedway (NC).  Regular driver Woody Pitkat is competing weekly in the SK Modified and Late Model divisions at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) and will be there that night, but will be back in the #79 car for Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Twin State Speedway (NH).

The shifter was ripped out of his hand.
At the track they thought he broke his ring finger.
But it's just a sprain.
The drive shaft twisted in half after the transmission blew. it did get into the inside of the car, but didn't hit him
