True Value Modified Racing SeriesApril 23, 2007For Immediate ReleaseContact: John H Spence Sr603-801-7640"Summers Rockets To First True Value Modified Win"  "Rocket" Rob Summers, Manchester, CT., the 2005 modified champion at his home track, the Waterford Speedbowl, blasted to his first True Value Modified Racing Series win Saturday night April 21, as he captured the season opening "Town Fair Tire 100." A total of 46 race teams from throughout New England, and New York, ventured to the historic speedway, the first of two events there.The race, despite 8 caution periods, saw 5 different leaders battling for the win. Qualifying heat races and last chance consolation races determined the startinglineup. Waterford regulars Dennis Gada and Frank Ruocco were guaranteed starters. 26 cars started event.PASS Pro Stock ace Ben Rowe,Turner ME., making his first start with the TVMRS, and Lisbon,CTs., Chris Pasteryak brought the field to green, with Pasteryak jumping into the lead for the first two circuits. He was reeled in and quickly passed by Danbury, CTs Ed Dachenhausen who blasted into the top spot until pole sitter Rowe grabbed the lead on lap 9. One lap later, Summers, who started 9th on the field, took over the point and held it until the 32nd lap. Dachenhausen,still running strong, reinherited the lead on lap 33 and set the pace until Summers grabbed it back on lap 37. It was Summers turn to lead the parade until a hard charging Ted Christopher, Plainville, CT, grabbed the lead on lap 44 and turned it back over to Summers. The sometime ISMA supermodified driver would fight off everything thrown his way and lead the race to the finish despite a hard fought effort from Christopher, who suffered a broken shock mount to sideline him, runner up Todd Patnode, Swanzey, NH., making his first start in a modified race in ten years. Kirk Alexander, the 2004-05 champion, and 21 time feature winner who finished third, Jimmy Kuhn,W.Bridgewater,MA., fourth and Pasteryak rounded out the top five. 6th through 10th were Rob Goodenough, Swanzey,NH., Gary Casella, Saugus,MA., Jeff Pearl, Salem, CT., Vinnie Annarummo, Swansea,MA., and Gada, Salem,CT.Heat Races were won by Rowe, Pasteryak, Pearl,and Louie Mechalides, while Mike Holdridge and Bryan Shumway nabbed the consolation races.Next event for the TVMRS will be Saturday night April 28 at the Monadnock Speedway, Winchester, NH. Race time is 6:00 PM.# # #
