Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
After watching the Busch Series event at Lowe's Motor Speedway, I had an interesting idea and figured I would share it .
There seems to be a need for a improved signaling of Pit Road opening, and I believe I have the sollution.
As we all know, the NASCAR Modified Tour is where most ideas used in NEXTEL Cup originate. With Whelen Engineering being the Tours Title Sponsor, this concept pans out even better.
My idea is for the Pace Car to be equipped with special lighting (desinged by Whelen) to signal when Pit Road is open/closed. By replacing the standard yellow lights with red and green. The lights on the Pace Car would flash red until Pit Road is opened, at which time the lights would the turn to green.
I believe this would be a much more visable signal. the crews, drivers, and spotters would all have a very clear signal now in my opinion.
This is just my thoughts, take them for what you will. thanx for reading.
