We hate spam as much as you do, but we also encourage advertisng by drivers, and teams, as well as other racing news and information websites. Feel free to place a link and/or banner in your signature or send your artwork/links to us for placement at adv@makinglaps.com.

Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
The rules are simple and it begins once the Chase competitors are set following Richmond. The object is to accumulate more points by out researching, out smarting or just plain out guessing everyone else.
1) Pick 3 Chase qualified drivers per race. But, only one driver from each range (1st-4th, 5th-8th & 9th-12th) in the current weekly points.
2) If any or all of those three drivers finish in the top three spots overall you earn points as follows:
a. Race Winner earns 9 points
b. Second place earns 6 points
c. Third place earns 3 points
d. Out of top three earns 0 points
3) Pick-Ums deadline is 5 minutes prior to start of race.
4) Bonus program, if you make your picks prior to 5 minutesbefore qualifying and any or all of your drivers qualify in the top 3 positions, a point bonus of:
a. Pole sitter earns 3 points
b. Outside Pole earns 2 points
c. Third fastest earns 1 point
Oh yeah, rain out qualifying doesn't count. And if you miss the qualifying dead line but make the race dead line you just miss out on qulifying bounus points not the race and lap leader bonus.
5) Laps lead Bonus
a. Lead Most laps earns 3 points
b. Lead at least one lap earns 1 points
6) Ties will be decided by:
a. 1st tie breaker; total races won
b. 2nd tie breaker; total 2nd place finishes
c. you get the point
7) The one with the most points following the last race wins bragging rights for a year plus admission for 2 to Sids Vault and a slighty used cheer leading outfit courtesy of Warren.
Once the Chase contenders are set I will post the list here for reference and update it each week on the topic for the next race along with our current point standings, date & time for the start of qualifing and date & time for the start of the race.
We are doing a trial run for the Richmonds race until the Chase starts so feel free to join in.
Please post comments & suggestions in that topic to keep this one from getting to confusing.
If you want to compete in the contest and are not a member of the site, please join so you have a screen name for tracking of contest points. If you do not want to join (why not, it's free and you won't get spammed) you can still compete in the contest. When a non-member posts, it is shown as 'Anonymous' and I can not track your picks. However, if you decide to post as 'Anonymous' and make picks, please add some nickname, screen name or some type of identifier or I will not be able to add them to the contest.
