Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
The Northeast Midget Association (NEMA) and the antique cars of ACOT, NEAR and STARS has proved to be a winning combination on Nostalgia Weekend at Waterford Speedbowl. They’ll all be on hand again as the Speedbowl’s annual salute to the sport’s history continues on August 5-6.
The Midgets will join the SK-Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsman and Mini Stocks on Saturday night (Aug. 5). A charter member of NEMA (1953), few tracks have a greater Midget history than the Speedbowl.
The cars of ACOT (open ****pits) and of NEAR and STARS (Coupes, Late Models, Pintos, Gremlins, etc) will be on display Saturday night. Last year the event drew over 60 cars.
On Sunday (Aug. 6), the antique cars take to the track between noon and 3 pm. It has become a tradition and it is not unusual to catch a one-time legend – a New England Hall of Famer – on Saturday and Sunday.
