Lee, NH – For the second time this season, the American-Canadian Tour’s (ACT) Late Models have lost an event to rain. Saturday’s Bay State 100 at Seekonk (MA) Speedway fell to the effects of Mother Nature’s continuing rampage across the Northeast. The race has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 5. Post time will be 6:00 pm.
Over 40 Late Models had filed entries for the Tour’s annual stop to the “Cement Palace” a 1/3 mile slightly banked paved oval located near Providence, RI. Brent Dragon of Milton, VT, who sits second in the season-long point standings behind multi-time champion, Jean-Paul Cyr, is the defending race winner.
Shelburne, Vermont’s Steve Fisher was victorious in the traveling Series’ 2004 stop for his first career win.
The ACT Tour continues its 2006 schedule on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9 at Quebec’s 7/8ths mile Sanair Super with the first of three $10,000 to win ACTion Super Series events. More than 50 drivers have already filed entries for the monza-Style “Mega Classique” including some of the top late model stock car drivers from both sides of the border. Qualifying, through heat races, is slated for Saturday. Sunday’s action begins with a Last Chance “B” feature which will be followed by the three-segment Mega Classique.
Also on tap that weekend at Sanair will be ACT’s Sportsmen Series and the Dirt Modifieds as well as three additional racing divisions. For more information visit www.acttour.com.
